A friendly little diner, always packed because of the tasty foods and nice atmosphere
Comfortable atmosphere, good food and good service. Highly recommend
Just left after looking at the new menu. They have raised prices to ridiculous heights. Used to be able to get out of there for less than15 bucks.
Friendly staff, adorable atmosphere, amazing food! 100% recommend!!
Love the feel of home in this restaurant. ❤
Amazing restaurant. Family and staff are just the best people in the world. You want an amazing diner experience with staff who treat you like family.. go here!! Do not think about it anymore.. just come here. Great wholesome food with awesome customer service. Been coming here for about two years and it is my go-to spot.
I had went to brk with my family and came out very disappointed in service, food and especially the lady (owner ?) at the counter. I came with my husband and kids. At first , we were seated separately because we had 9 people. My two youngest and my husband and I were seated at the booth and then my other kids got seated at table. One waitress took our drink order and then maybe about 5 mins or so later, the establishment put some tables together for us to sit. Now another waitress took my other kids drink and food order and then our waitress came with our drinks and then later came back and took our food order. With our water, we asked for lemon, which we had to ask several times , then when our food came, the order wasn’t right.. which is no big deal but when we got our check, it said 20% gratuity and had no total. Plus, my husband got burger and I believe it came with fries but it had separate prices on the burger, fries and 3.75 add on for pickles?! Who gives ticket without total price? I want to know what I am paying.. Also one of my daughter went and asked about the ticket and why 20% gratuity was added but gave her some nonsense about the fine print on the bottom of menu, which I had already read. I’m not illiterate.. and most restaurants do that but a different waitress took our order while another waitress took my older grown kids orders.. Now I could deal with that but the lady at counter was something else. You run or work at restaurant. How you talk ( especially the tone) that you speak to your customers is a must, especially in food service. I read other reviews about the lady running register , how rude she is and I must say I agree. She was rude, condescending, arrogant and very unprofessional in her tone and the way she handles customer and complaints. I am not a complainer and even when service is slow or not right, I usually let it go with a smile but she made me want to put a review in to let other customers or future customers know what kind of treatment they might receive. Also when my other daughter went to pay her bill, the lady at cash register basically told her how much gratuity she will pay. I thought it was the customer choice depending on their dining experience and I usually leave a good tip, especially if I had a good experience. The waitress but have been a little slow (because of being busy) which I understand but the rudeness of the owner ( lady at the register) just rubbed me the wrong way. And it seemed like I wasn’t the only one that noticed that reading other reviews. So I will not be EVER going to Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe . And yes, I will be going to another establishment if I am in the area again
The food is good. I’ve been here 3 or 4 times, and I have recommended it to others. The experience I had today was not great. The cashier checking us out was extremely rude. I had asked one of the waitresses for stronger coffee and she said that there was something wrong with it today. I asked for it to be removed from my bill and the cashier responded “This is the first I am hearing of this today.”
I wasn’t trying to complain… I even asked for another cup of coffee thinking that would be better. I used to come and recommend people, but I will not be returning to this business again.
Nice family shoppe, great variety of food, everyone's so friendly.
Home cooking with daily specials. Excellent. Third visit from Virginia Beach. Friendly and quick service continues.

I'm all about the breakfast! This place is great, with good service, food, and portions. Not at all expensive. A lot of locals go there, so there's that. Not fancy, just good food. Highly recommended.
Every time I come to Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe, it’s such a peaceful and welcoming experience. The atmosphere is calm and cozy! Perfect whether you’re grabbing a quiet moment to yourself, enjoying a family breakfast, or out on a sweet morning date.
The food is always great and comes out in a timely manner, hot and fresh. The staff are incredibly friendly, always ready to answer questions, and even go out of their way to help you save money. You can tell they truly want you to enjoy the full experience.
If you’re looking for a warm, inviting place to start your day, Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe is definitely one to consider!
The prices on the website are not accurate, everything is several dollars more than what is posted. They also add a to go charge of at least $1.50 or more without letting you know. If you’re already charging a 10-15% charge for to go orders, you don’t deserve a tip on top of that. There is no service involved other than putting the food in a bag…you don’t deserve a tip for that, especially when you’re already charging 10-15% up charge for a to go order which you don’t disclose, it just shows up on the final bill! I went from being exited to support you and referring you multiple customers to no longer being a customer because Veronica is rude, disrespectful and engages in bullying behavior when there is no justification to tip on a to go order! What a shame this went from multiple referrals to your shoppe to not spending another dime with you. Shame on you for not respecting and appreciating your customer base, Sooooooooodamn disappointing
I was so excited after my first breakfast at Sunrise! I shared my experience with multiple people. After my first visit, I shared with my co-worker and we ordered lunch on Wednesday, I got the ham, cabbage and carrot lunch special, she got the Adobe egg white omelette last Wednesday. Her son’s birthday was Saturday and he and several of his friends went for breakfast to celebrate his birthday. Today I went back to try the meatloaf lunch special!
The mashed potatoes were covered with brown gravy even though I had explained I don’t eat gravy. When I went to get it corrected, Veronica repeatedly asked me in a nasty tone if I was tipping.
You added a $1.50 service charge for to go orders. Who and why would I tip when you charged me extra for a to go order, no one has serviced me other than to put my food in a bag, get real!
The gentleman in front of me was asking questions about the extra charges and you were rude and condescending, telling him it’s not 1985 and you pay more now.
I went from singing your praises and referring you business to being done with your rudeness and bullying of a regular customer. My understanding is you’re celebrating 30 years in business tomorrow under the same ownership! What a shame, instead of celebrating you, which is where I was a week ago…I am no longer interested in supporting you due to your nasty attitude, extra charges that aren’t divulged until after the fact and expecting a tip for nothing!!!
You just lost a great customer and many referrals!
Shame on you for not appreciating your customer base.
Enjoy your food, but absolutely refuse to pay for service with an attitude and bullying over a tip for a to go order! No service involved other than putting my food in a bag and you charged me for that. Soooooooooo disappointing because I love to support local businesses vs corporate ones.
Best spot for breakfast in Great Bridge! Delicious food and great service! Then go walk it off at the lock park and museum across the street!
