I have been going to the Surf Rider for years as they have a few locations in the Hampton Roads area. Hands down, they have the best crab cakes in the area. The crab cakes are reasonably priced, as you get it with 2 side items for under $20 (depends on location). The crab cakes are like all crabs, and only filler is to hold the crab meat together.

The shrimp are big, plump and juicy with the great taste of she crab soup....yummy! The crab cakes are absolutely delicious and tender. You certainly will not be disappointed.

Food took way to long to get and there was hardly any customers in the restaurant. Server was so-so. I got crab legs, which is different from the crab meat, which comes from a can. Just fyi, for anyone that has plans to get the lump crab meat dinner. It's 26.99 for CANNED crab meat, vs 21.99 for the fresh stuff. Not going to that location again.

Love this place. The staff is so friendly and quick. The food is great. I like the Filipino/Cajun menu. Coffee is the best in this town. Tip: Get there early this place can get packed quick.i'm definitely a fan of the Sunrise Breakfast Shoppe. In, eat, out. That's my jam!

Visited the Greenbrier location. Service was great but food was lacking in flavor. Best things were the clam strips and she- crab soup. We had a large party and our server did very well.

You let me down this trip Surf Rider. I have been coming to these restaurants since the 80’s. I have never had a bad experience until tonight. Terrible service. I got my salad at the same time my husband got his dinner. He was finished eating before I got mine. The fried shrimp were not cleaned well with vein and legs still attached. Such a bad visit this time.
