I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
I ordered the “jumbo scallops” for $38.99 and what I was served was an order of 11 tiny scallops that were maybe 1 inch each. That is absolutely not what anyone would consider “jumbo,” and it definitely was not worth the price.
When I spoke to my waitress (who apparently was also the manager) and asked if the item could be removed from my check so I could order something actually worth the quality and price, she refused. She insisted there was “nothing wrong” with the scallops, even though they were clearly falsely advertised and extremely overpriced.
After going back and forth, the best they were willing to do was a $9 discount and remove the gratuity. That does not fix the issue of being served something completely different from what was advertised.
I also noticed that this place doesn’t seem to respond to reviews, so this is more of an informational warning for anyone traveling or looking for a seafood restaurant. Don’t waste your time or money here. If the scallops are falsely advertised and overpriced, I can only imagine what else on the menu is.

Never coming here again!!! First side was the corn, it was very distasteful and chewy. The mashed potatoes and gravy was disgusting. The green beans were not at all seasoned at all. Tastes straight out the can. The oysters were ok but that’s all. The manager stated she couldn’t do anything about me paying 19$ for only oysters. By the way they don’t give you a lot of those. I’m highly disappointed. Don’t eat here unless you like to waste money!!!

It's Valentine's day and my wife and I enjoyed our meals at Surf Rider. We were the first to walk through the door during the most planned busiest days of the year. Our server was amazing and she was on it to include the to-go orders i placed for some friends. Food was amazing, hot, and delicious! Thank you Surf Rider for making this Valentine's day great for me and my wife.

Here's the bottom line... If you want foundational great authentic seafood. Put this in your GPS and get to going. Even the Mr.Pib soda was delicious, and I mention this because it matters. Dontona, if I even spelled it correctly. Was absolutely dynamite in her service. When you have fried flounder or fried clams for example, the batter is so light and almost zero greasyness. They do need an overhaul because it's very bland and dull as far as an atmosphere. I mean, seriously, they need to get something going. But I've been there over fifteen times and I'll always continue to go back. Oh, can we please get some fried scallops, please, to go with the seafood combos. And don't gouge us.
I drove all the way there to get a gift card and get dinner. The crab cake had dark spots like when meat is old. I told the manager and she refused to take it off of my bill although I didn’t eat it! I offered to pay for the food I did eat but she argued with me and gave terrible customer service! Kaylee told me that customer dissatisfaction isn’t something that Surf Rider considers!

Stopped in for a she crab soup to go. It was incredibly small so be prepared for that but it was DELICIOUS !! I’ll definitely be back to dine in (hopefully the portions are larger) when I come back home to visit.

Went for lunch today and had a glass of iced tea which after drinking found it had glass in it when I had a piece in my mouth that I crunched on. Took a sliver out and showed the waitress who was very sweet and apologetic. She showed the manager who never came over or offered any help or checked on me. Had several pieces in my mouth that I tried to remove in napkins which ultimately cause some trauma in my mouth. Very sad that this happened and nothing was done about it. It was definitely not the waitress fault but she was the only one that seemed to care. Would not recommend this location!
