Really like this place. I've had various lattes, their sausage biscuit, and the bacon burrito. Coffee is good, and the food is good and tastes light and fresh. Taxus is located inside a brewery so you get the brewery vibe with an outdoor area, tons of windows, and high ceilings. Most of the seating is high-top tables. The barista is very pleasant. Would recommend!

Tried this as part of the Coastal Coffee Trail. It's out of my normal route but so glad I decided to give it a go. I am a huge chai latte fan but was feeling different that day. I tried a London Fog on a recommendation from the barista and fell in love! This version uses a lavender earl grey tea and the hint of floral was unexpectedly delicious. With a touch of vanilla and sweetness, I have a new addition to my tea latte preferences. The staff was so nice and talked me through the offerings for non-coffee. I only wish their hours were a little longer, but that's a selfish reason

This experience was fair, they close at 12:00pm most days, so any evening shoppers won’t be able to visit, but definitely great for early birds. Travel is frustrating, especially if your coming from Va Beach.I had the Shakerato, and a carrot muffin. The muffin is light, flavors are simple, not overpowering, nor hard to taste.Coffee is lightly sweet, with the condensed milk.Atmosphere is more for large parties, not really for relaxing. Very open and bright, not really cozy, no couches, or armchairs, only tall chairs and tall tables. More for beer and ales which is probably their most popular.Disappointingly I will not be returning.

I absolutely love this place!!! Try the lavender vanilla latte. I'm not a lavender girl, but it was so good. The breakfast burrito was beyond on point with really crunchy bacon,( which I truly enjoyed). It's so cute! The barista was extremely friendly. The atmosphere was just so chill. Plenty of tables for big groups, will 100% be back worth the drive.

Working on the costal coffee trail and came in 10 minutes before closing. Barista was super friendly and considerate despite coming in under the wire. I got the honey oatmilk latte and the espresso was amazing!!! I also appreciate that oatmilk was only a 50¢ up charge as opposed to 75¢-$1 at most other places! Overall a great place and will definitely be coming back! Also bendy straws are superior to regular straws, much appreciated!

A great place to enjoy coffee on a Tuesday through Friday work week. Coffee was good. Staff was nice and close to home.

Taxus Street Coffee (TSC) is a permanent installation of a coffee shop located inside Big Ugly Brewing. They take over the bar in the morning hours when the brewery is closed.I've been many times over the last almost two years trying various lattes, from the regular lattes, mocha lattes, iced coffees to shakeratos (a more complex latte shaken). I've also bought the canned cold brew for my husband which he has enjoyed. They roast their own coffee and provide their coffee beans to other businesses in the area like Battlegrounds, that I have seen.Aside from their caffeinated lattes, they also have iced coffee drinks and non-coffee drinks. For bites, I believe they carry savory items like breakfast sammies and burritos from the local biz down the street, City Deli. For sweets, they carry baked goods from Heritage Bake Shoppe out in Virginia Beach like their cinnamon rolls, whoopie pies and muffins. My favorite days to go during the warmer months is when Klassic Doughnuts are parked outside from 7 am -12 pm, so I can hit them both at once! Coffee and doughnuts, what better marriage is there, except for mine, of course. :PTaxus and Klassic have had a long lasting partnership for at least, as long as I have lived here and my hack to weathering the line for Klassic is to tag team with someone you are with and get a coffee and enjoy it while you are waiting. Of course, you can do the opposite and get some doughnuts and enjoy the doughnuts with the coffee once inside. It's a win win!Go check them out! Stay safe, Friends!

Located inside the Big Ugly Brewing, my Iced French Vanilla latte (2-2) was really good & served by a super friendly barista! They had sold out of the Sausage Egg & Cheese biscuit, so I opted for the Carrot & Pineapple Muffin (heated). It was really moist & went well with my latte!Nice venue, so I will return earlier for my biscuit real soon! ??

Excellent quality coffee beans! We recently purchased an espresso maker for home and have been on a search for the best whole espresso beans for my machine. After trying about 6-7 different brands, I found my new favorite! Their Drummond Espresso beans are perfect and are super fresh. The owner was really nice and explained the variety of beans they offer, how they roast beans every 10 days, etc. Exactly what I was looking for. I'll be back to try the drinks as well.

The best coffee in Chesapeake. The couple who run it are so friendly. I use their beans daily in my home.

I'm relatively new to the area and searched Yelp for coffee shops near me. Taxus wasn't too far so on a beautiful, sunny November morning I headed here to check it out. Located inside Big Ugly Brewing, the menu is somewhat limited but I like to think that just means they know what they're good at and keep it simple. My drink, the Honey Cinnamon Latte (fall special) was exceptional and the barista was super kind and helpful in recommending this drink.I drank my coffee outside on the large patio and reveled in the ability to enjoy a coffee outside, in the sun, without a coat just a couple of days away from December. My former Midwest and Pacific Northwest selves are loving this new life! Thanks, Taxus! I'll be back for sure!

Love Big Ugly Brewing and happy to have a coffee spot pop up inside (genius!). So A+ all around on environment, but unfortunately can't say the same about the coffee. My friend and I ordered cold brew and it was pretty watered down and bitter. Maybe they are still trying to nail down the ratios but a bit disappointed there.
