“Just going down memory lane this morning and I stumbled upon this page. I went to school at TD in the 05/06 school year (class of 08). We moved to chester from Orlando, FL due to my fathers job change. I didn't know anyone or anything around me, and honestly didn't want to move at the time and I had a lot of trouble at my previous school, some of which stemmed from not feeling like i was important enough to bother trying, so i didn't try. But from the first day of school I started making new friends and I loved going to class everyday because all of the teachers loved what they were doing and that enthusiasm was transferred to us as they taught us. I couldn't say that about my high school before and after Thomas dale, having teachers that were that personally vested in my success was a new thing for me, knowing they cared about my education more than I did at times empowered me to know that i was worth fighting for, and to this day I look back on my 1 year there, and how it changed my life, leaving there feeling like an individual, not just a number. I'll never forget the time one of my teachers called my mother and said I was such a joy to have in class and the classroom is a better place with me in it, my mom was like ok but what did he do?(any time she recieved a phone call before I was always in trouble)The teacher replied everything he should be doing, she just wanted to say thanks for raising such a good child.(Anyone that knows me from my previous school would have never seen that coming in 100 years..But it made me feel heard and known, which was all I really wanted. We ended up moving back to Florida after that summer, but I was forever changed my the love and compassion of my Thomas dale staff and friends. The teachers I remember the most were Coach Williams, Kim Stanley, Deborah Seraydarian, and Sgt. Simon. There were several other great ones but forgive me it's been a while.. LOL Thank you guys and gals for being you, and Thank you for the best year of school I could ever ask for.“
