August 2025 review- came back again, because as I said last year, this place has what you want in a beach town. This year our experience was even better. While we did have to wait a little longer, it gave us time to shop a little before coming back to a table ready for us (45 mins). The fried Mac n cheese were perfect appetizer! I ordered the Blackened Cod tacos with spicy boom boom/yum yum/bum bum sauce. It was the best dish we have ordered so far! The best fish tacos I’ve had on the island as of yet! The Old Bay fries are not as could as they could be. Thick dry chip with a little Old Bay flavoring, but my husband loved them.
One child got the burger again and loved it! The other child Fried Cod sandwich. It was huge…the cod could have fit on two buns. It was cooked well, but the batter could have a little more salt or seasoning. My husband had the Fried Flounder with chips. Same feeling…needed more salt/seasoning or crispiness, but the basket was empty at the end, still delicious!

Tammy the waitress was beyond kind and very attentive. The hostesses were equally as kind. As we said last year, we still highly recommend.

August 2024 original review- Very nice hostesses who despite there being quite a long line, were able to get us a table fairly quickly (15 mins). Went to the bar to have a drink while waiting. The bar was a boat in the middle of the restaurant, which is fully screened in deck (a must in Chincoteague). It was a busy night with not enough waiter’s which is why the wait was a little longer. Once seated we quickly ordered and the waitress was very friendly. Food came quickly. The kids both got cheeseburgers, which were adequate but not great. Husband got the coconut shrimp, which were very good. I got the fried cod, which was adequate but left a lot to be desired. Dipping it in the tartar sauce made it sufficient. Sweet potato fries were soggy, but the regular fries were good. Overall we would recommend because the atmosphere is EXACTLY what you want in a beach town.

Good food, big portions. The wait just stinks. No reservations are the biggest detractor. Worth the wait !

Came here for dinner after going to Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. I had read ahead of time that the waits can be long here, so I was surprised that we got in in 15 minutes. We ate at the bar, which isn't my first choice of seating, but thankfully this wasn't a rowdy or raunchy bar.

I had seen pictures of the Coastal Bloody Mary and really wanted to try it. So I did, and it is absolutely massive, and almost a meal itself! The seafood garnishes were good, but the Bloody Mary itself could've been better. However, I got to keep the glass!

For our entree we got the seafood boats. Those were pretty good, basically seafood potato skins. And for our entree we both split the seafood platter. Wow, platter is right, it's huge! We couldn't even finish it! Not the best fried seafood I've had, but still good. The batter could've used a bit more flavor.

This is our absolutely favorite spot for lunch/dinner in Chincoteague! Ever since they expanded beyond just takeout to their fun covered deck, it’s been an even better spot. The food is always delicious, plenty of options, and the portions are large. Prices are also on point. Cocktails are also good and there are some really fun ones, including a fully loaded Bloody Mary.

Captain Zack is a wonderful place, but suffers from location. As one of the only good seafood places on Chincoteague, it's top notch. Unfortunately, they're understaffed at times, and on a Thursday evening in late August, there's a two hour wait for a non reserved table. Maybe unfair to not five star them, as our prior visits have been great, but we hoped to go there tonight, but ended up cooking at home.

Waitress was incredibly rude. I've never been treated the way not only me, but the guests I had brought were treated. It was as if we had gone to one of those gimick restaurants that are purposely rude as part of the experience.

Took 20 minutes to get drinks. First round wasn't terrible but my second drink was nothing like the first and awful and waitress had a huge problem with us asking about the drinks.

Took 40 minutes to get mediocre pub grub that unfortunately made ALL of us nauseous. Waitress also had a problem if we asked about the food menu. One of our guests was asked why she would come to a seafood restaurant and order a burger.

First and last time visiting this tourist trap. When getting the check, we asked about her rudeness and she replied with the fact tables with 6 or more people have a 20% tip already in the bill so she doesn't have to be nice to us. She then walked away and tripped with a full drink tray, all over a customer.

Horrible experience. Times have been tough and people worked hard to visit the area, this lady is gonna pull her act with the wrong customer one day.

Just had an excellent meal delivered. Delivery was prompt! I had the coconut shrimp with sides of broccoli salad and corn on the cob. Delicious! Highly recommend.

On behalf of Pocomoke City’s 50plus center:

Everything was wonderful. They were able to accommodate us, a group of 17, flawlessly on short notice.

I did not hear a single complaint about the food. Each person was very happy with the taste, quickness of preparation, and the amount you get for a good price - there were plenty of leftovers!

The waitress's were on top of everything, not a drink went empty!

Thank you so much!
