I went to JB’s and ordered a small tuna sub and I have to say that sub was outstanding! The service was great and they were very friendly and professional. I will definitely be going back every chance I visit Chincoteague Island! I have gotten subs from Steve’s II and JB’s definitely had them beat by a mile! JB’s will definitely continue to get my business! Keep up the great work JB’s! ??❤️

This is a deli, the food was well prepared but she did not get my order correct. We took the sandwiches back to the cabin, and I found my turkey sandwich had cheese on it. I clearly asked for a turkey sandwich, with lettuce, tomato and mayo... I am allergic to cheese. I did not ask for cheese. She got all confused as to which type of ham one my husband ordered, but got that correct. The food was good, once I peeled my sandwich apart.

Dietary restrictions: Since each sandwich is built to order, you should be able to choose what you need. However, check the order. They don't always get it right

I was a first time customer to this shop and was super excited to get a good cold cut on vacation. NEVER AGAIN! I was yelled at on the phone by some lady for the way I was ordering. Never got a hi or welcome when I walked in. I was standing IN line, an order for someone else became ready. When I went to step up to the register on my turn the person behind the counter ignored me and cashed out the persons order that was waiting(who was not in line). The guy behind the counter then got an attitude with me about my order cause I asked for “everything” on an Italian sub and said “you need to tell us what you want on your sub” rudely. So yea I will never go there again. The subs were not good and barely had anything in them for how much I spent!

The food was good but too much money. Half cold cut sub, whole tuna sub and a chicken salad sandwich was $48.

Great little deli and market to stop for sandwiches, drinks, and ice. It’s family owned and operated. Everyone is very friendly and personable and the sandwiches are great!

Have enjoyed going to J&Bs for 30 years and a recent visit was terrible. It is a sad remnant of what used to be great. Slow service, which is part of being on 'island time', and loud bickering from kitchen staff, which again, is just some local banter. Not deal breakers. But the older man making sandwiches (apparently the owner's son) -- eating scraps while preparing food, touching his mouth, not wearing gloves -- was just gross. After waiting 45 minutes for a single sub, I left - had seen all I needed to see. The young woman running the register was lovely.

I have fond memories of stopping for breakfast sandwiches on the way to go fishing with my dad, or grabbing a sub before heading to Memorial Park. Was looking forward to continuing to be able to support a small, local business. They have changed and have much less stocked now, as well. I hope the owner fixes staffing issues. They have many signs stating that folks don't want to work anymore -- yet Pico and Whippys and other places have plenty of efficient, friendly staff that seem to adhere to health codes. Maybe some of their changed staff members, and bad vibes environment, is the reason for not keeping new staff. Brian is missed, he was always so helpful.

Called around 11 am and ordered 3 sandwiches. Told 20 mins. We go to pick up on time. 2 hours later they were finally done!! Yes, stood there waiting for 2 hours!! Some people who ordered after us were getting their stuff. Asked if they lost my order, they kept telling me 5 more mins. Then 10 more mins, etc......Literally 2 hours later they were done. 1 star because the food was good. Counter person just standing around waiting for them to finish making sandwiches. Doesn't jump in to help. One guy took forever to put lettuce and tomatoes on
one sandwich!!...Definitely need the Kitchen Nightmares guy to give them help with a proficient organized system. Go to Drift by AJ's, better sandwiches, great customer service! And quick!

My wife and I went there for breakfast sandwiches for our family. When we got there the place was practically empty, I think just two people were waiting for their order. The staff were not especially inviting and didn't say hello or anything or ask if we needed to place an order, but I got somebody's attention and ordered four breakfast sandwiches. So simple. Two egg cheese and bacon, two egg cheese and sausage. And then we waited... and we waited... and we waited. While we waited, we saw other people come in and order and get their food and leave. Finally I went up to the front register and asked if our order was ready, and they seemed like they didn't know what was going on. I eventually got an answer that "he's making it". But when another family of six or so came in, ordered, and then I saw them getting full submarine sandwiches made and ready to be paid for, I had had enough... and I walked out and left.
I'm white, my wife is African American, and our kids are mixed and - if you can relate - a situation like this, where white customer after white customer strolls in, orders, gets their food, pays, and leaves, while we sit wondering what the heck is going on, really makes us wonder if race had something to do with it. Maybe it had nothing to do with it, but no matter what, this place tucked IMO.

Painfully slow service? On a Sunday afternoon, 30+ minutes for a single sandwich? Looks like locals and big call- ins get priority over walk-ins. Clean and not bad on prices in this economy, but certainly not speedy. Take out only and cash only.

Parking: 7 spots out front.
