Blackfin is incredible. The food is freshly prepared and very unique. They have an amazing breakfast menu fill with everything from Eggs Benedict four different ways to their own creations like the Blackfin stack. Their lunch menu has the best tacos, flatbread creations including a smoked salmon flatbread to fried oyster baskets made with the freshest Chincoteague salt oysters. Their dinners are where they really show how creative they are with their original tapas menu, burgers, flatbread and main courses of the week. This restaurant has been a hit since the day they opened their doors and it keeps getting better and better. Love them.

Had a nice meal there with my son. He works a shift or 2 there. We had tapas basically. We shared shrimp ceviche. It was very good. We also shared a plate of poke nachos and chicken caprese flatbread. Everything was tasty. The dining room is a little bland, but I understand there are improvements coming soon to decor and front porch. I'll review again. Good start though I know the food truck is popular.

First day of restaurant service. Long wait to sit, long wait for food, breakfast was unmemorable.

Light clean meals that are perfect for summer weather. Certainly a unique experience and wondeful for sensitive tummies.

Was so excited to try this place but my Buddha poke with salmon didn't live up to expectations. The fish was fresh but the veggies were not (canned corn, oxidized avocado, and carrots from a bag that tasted of preservatives). I was underwhelmed by the jasmine rice (expected sushi rice) and there wasn't enough sauce. It was a beautiful presentation although I didn't take a picture. Will give it another try for the fruit bowls but no more poke for me. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Delicious! Loved the fried tempura soft shell crab, squid stick, and smoked fish with nachos.

Seating location is a dirt parking lot. It's not the greatest. Food in and of itself is fine. Bordering on good. But the biggest issue is that it's expensive for the tiny quantity! I ordered a poke bowl and that included avocado as its ingredient. And yet they charged me 2 bucks for Avocado as an extra topping. Furthermore, there is no table service. But the signing of credit card has a preselected suggestion of 20% tip !?! Am I just tipping for preparing the food? Isn't the preparation included in the cost of the dish. Because ingredients were certainly not worth 17 dollars. So all in all, food is fine. But I would only recommend going here after you have eaten at all the other fine restaurants in town.

Not bad, but everything seems to have the same lemon taste.

Food truck that offers a variety of choices from appetizers to share: crab Rangoon, lumpia, soft shell crab bites, squid stick, to name a few. They offer quite a selection of poke bowls where you pick your base of salad or brown rice or white rice, then your protein: shrimp, chicken, pork, tofu, jackfruit (vegan) then the bowl with a variety of toppings like carrots. Radish, peanuts, cilantro, seaweed salad etc etc etc AND more add-ins like quail eggs, seaweed salad, etc. They also offer fruit bowls with base of: pitaya or coconut or açaí and then the different ingredients like pineapple, mango and blueberries which they call “gold coast” and there’s another one with Nutella mix-ins. On this very day and moment (Sunday at 5pm) they ran out of the fruit bowls!!Service was friendly with a smile. Around their food truck is a good size gravel parking lot and benches with umbrellas. Highly recommended by this foodie, will be a reason to go back to Chincoteague to try their fruit bowls!

In the parking lot next to Mr. Whippy, you'll find the Blackfin food truck. There are a handful of parking spaces next to the truck, and some nice picnic tables where you can wait for your food and enjoy it on site if not taking it to go.The specialize in bowls - poke bowls and fruit bowls mainly. I got the Buddha Bowl, which was a pretty standard raw tuna poke bowl. My only complaint would be that there was very little sauce at all, so it felt like it was missing something to tie it all together. My wife got a special Boom Boom shrimp bowl, which had a nice crispy and spicy shrimp topping. We also got some vegetable lumpia (Filipino fried spring rolls) and a side of fried plantains. My sons got one of the breakfast bowls - the Black's Beach bowl with nutella drizzle, berries, and granola. They were out of coconut base, so instead my kiddos chose frozen mango puree. The service was friendly, the prices fair, and the food was ready pretty quickly. I would definitely come back.

Tried this for a quick lunch but wasn't super pleased with my poke bowl. He got a burrito special which was enormous and he loved every bite, but I can't bump it up a star for that. I got a coastal with no tomato or onion. The shrimp tasted old, the rice was overcooked, and the avocado wasn't ripe. Flies bothered us at the table so badly we moved to eat in the car. There was also a very limited selection of drinks. Go ahead and give them a try, but maybe stick to the specials.
