If you are staying in Chincoteague and are craving a sandwich or something savory to eat, do yourself a favor and stop by Having A Meltdown. You will get an absolutely loaded grilled cheese, with many different variations available. They have come about as close to perfecting the grilled cheese as any place I've been before. Their homemade lemonades are also fantastic.

Our family had three ranchers, a meltdown, a kick-in-the-can, and a pinch me - they were all easily 9/10. The kick-in-the-can was pretty spicy but the loaded waffle fries helped cut the heat. ;) Oh, and top-notch strawberry lemonade. Making notes for next time!!
Hubbers & I visited Chincoteague for a mini vaca... tried The Pearl 🤮🤮🤮 & decided to try this place. Hands down was the best we had all week ( besides the Island creamery 🍨🍦) . If you get a chance try them, for the $$ you get a good portioned meal. Highly recommend 🍽
There was no shortage of cheese in the melts but it was very plain and monotonous tasting. Out of waffle fries, no salt/pepper seasoning, no ketchup, extremely slow service with few customers.

I walked 20 minutes from our rental on a holiday weekend just to find out they closed an hour earlier than their hours reflect on google. What’s equally frustrating is they’re one of the only places in this town that doesn’t focus on my allergy (shellfish). Honestly really disappointed.
everything was delicious!

I got the rancher, my fiance and I split mozz sticks and the loaded waffle fries. I think the rancher was very large, could use a bit more ranch, there was barely any on it, that wasnt a problem though, I came back and added some more. Definitely very cheesy and a good amount of chicken and bacon. The chicken was pretty dry, that was the only downfall and possibly some of why I needed more ranch.
The waffle fries were loaded, very good. Mozz sticks were good. Workers were very friendly and nice to talk to. About a 10 minute wait which isnt bad at all. Overall a very nice place to stop in for a quick but heavy meal. You definitely would be full on one sandwhich, fry orders can be shared with 2 people. Not bad price for how large everything is. I will definitely be back to try other sandwiches
Got food poisoning from the crab 😞 soggy fries. Expensive for what it is.

ARE YOU A PERSON THAT LOVES CHEESY OR MESSY FOOD???? DO YOU REALLY LIKE PEPSI?
If so? This is absolutely for you. I didn't have any expectations coming here on vacation but I was blown away mile high.
I got the oodle to noodles sandwich and Pepsi and it genuinely the best thing ever. The sandwich was perfect and wonderfully cooked and the mac and cheese was delicious. It caused an absolute mess but it was divine, Like god himself was cooking the mac along with them.
Obviously, the atmosphere was dope and matched the laid back style of the beach.
I dont care if im the president or the pope, I am absolutely coming back with open arms.

The concept is solid and portions are generous, but the overall experience didn’t quite match the price point. After ordering, I was told there would be a 30–45 minute wait — it ended up taking over an hour.
The food looked great at first glance, but the textures were off. Some items were too soft and difficult to handle, while the meat wasn’t easy to bite through, making it a challenge to enjoy. For the cost, I expected better consistency and more attention to detail.
Hope to see improvements — it has potential.
I understand that everything is made fresh, and I appreciate that — but it would’ve been helpful to know the wait time before paying. Being told it would be 30–45 minutes after ordering, then waiting over an hour, definitely affected the experience. I really hope you can find a better system to communicate wait times upfront — the food has potential, but the timing and texture issues made it hard to enjoy this visit.
If you're looking for a perfect little lunch spot you gotta try them! Good food, huge proportions.

The Rancher: chicken
Bacon ranch cheddar 4/5: cheesiest melt I’ve ever had. It tasted kind of like pizza with ranch. Bread was toasted well. the chicken blended in and didn’t stand out. The only reason it’s a 4.
Blueberry lemonade (seasonal) 5/5: they made the blueberry sweet, but not too sweet! with an undertone of lemonade citrus flavor.
It was a food truck kind of store
