Even on a rainy day, the ladies running the front were darting car to car with a smile and quick curt service! If you like an americana style, drive up, burger place, then this place rocks! First time here, but they'll see me back again!

My visit to Dude's Drive-In today left me with mixed feelings. On one hand, the food itself – two hot dogs with just ketchup, an order of fries, and a drink – was quite tasty. The flavors were there, and the meal was prepared well. However, the cost of nearly $14 for what I received was astonishing and frankly, disappointing. At this price point, I expected an exceptional dining experience or at least something that felt like a good value. Unfortunately, Dude's Drive-In falls short in this critical aspect. Value for money is key in dining, and when the balance tips too far towards expense without a discernible reason, it's hard to justify a return visit or recommend it to others. As much as I wanted to love my experience and support Dude's Drive-In, I find it difficult to do so solely based on the disproportionate cost of the meal. Therefore, I cannot foresee myself returning or encouraging others to visit, unless there are changes in the pricing strategy that better reflect the value of the offerings. It's a 2-star rating from me – good food, but not at a price that makes sense.
Tried to stop by this place today with my son as a treat after car shopping. They do not hand out menus. They do not post their prices. The server said I will tell you how things cost if you need to know. Seriously? How do I know I am being charged correctly, or the same as everyone else? How is this even legal? We drove away without ordering. This is devious.

Went to Dudes today drove down from Roanoke this was my second time going there. The first time everything was great. But this time not so much, pulled in and parked watched two servers walking around. They went to two cars that pulled in after me and I could see one on her phone through the window the other was just hanging out sipping on her drink. I guess my business wasn't important to them so I left. The only reason I gave two stars was the first time was a nice experience.

Stop in and try it. Excellent drive in service with great food. Veggies are fresh and crisp, adding to the flavor of the beef. Tater tots - nice and crispy. Milkshake took a bit to get started (kinda thick and chunky), but delicious.

Waited over 15 minutes for a breakfast sandwich and some fries when I was only one of 2 cars there. I’m hit with a total of almost $11 just for that. Get to work with the food and I open the package to a sandwich SLATHERED in mayo, tomato, and lettuce with a cold egg on top. You should at least warn people if that’s what you put that on every sandwich or ask “with everything?” to make people aware you add a bunch of extra toppings. Anyway, since I don’t eat mayo nor tomato, I had to toss the sandwich. At least the fries are always good and the servers are always friendly. But essentially, I paid $11 for fries because that’s all I could eat from what I got. This place is already too expensive especially when you get the food and can’t even eat it.

I wasn't very impressed overall. First time customer, rolled up for a quick lunch during the work day. I bought a bacon cheeseburger, a side of fries, and a drink. The food was good, and it was out quickly, but the price felt insane for what I got. My total came to $18.10 for the items I listed. I was confused and wanted a breakdown on the math, and it turns out that the upcharge to add bacon was $4.35. I was not made aware of the charge being quite so steep, minding that I said I hadn't been there before.I'm not really one to compare drive-in's to corporate chains, but I feel obligated to point out that I could've gone to red robin down the road, gotten a bacon cheeseburger and *bottomless* fries and a drink and still be multiple dollars short of $18.10. In short, don't order bacon I guess. Or at least know that each slice of bacon unironically costs $1.45 as per the current menu. I would've at least appreciated being informed that adding bacon would nearly double the cost of my burger. I did check the menu on the website before ordering, but the only menu linked is from 2019.
