Great place for a nice dinner. Love the individual booth set up which makes it like a private dining experience. We had prime rib which was perfect. Great wedge salad that we split. Banana pudding and chocolate mouse torte for dessert... hmm good.

Food: Usually, we go for the steak, but this evening, we did fish. I had the special, which was a blackened mahi mahi. It was cooked to perfection and had a very nice spice to it. I had it with asparagus, probably the perfect side for the fish. My wife had the bourbon glazed salmon and she said it was perfect! Service: The staff is very courteous and attentive. It was Friday night, so it was busy, but the pace of the drinks, order, food was good. The staff obviously is trained and do probably the best job of any restaurant in the area. I appreciate that they worked hard to provide a great experience. Ambiance: The farmhouse is an interesting place with little cubby holes in most of the restaurant. It can make a very intimate setting for a meal. Our table was very private.
We were in town for our daughter's soccer tournament. Had read the good reviews online so decided to go to The Famrhouse on our first night. My husband and I both got the filets which were perfectly seasoned and cooked. Portion sizes were smaller but enough for us. Left enough room for desert which was excellent. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back again the next night for dinner again.

It was a nice atmosphere and a great date night spot. 10/10 desserts. Great service. Only blemish is the prime rib is simply not worth the price, very tough and chewy. The Cajun pasta was 10/10 however.

Great variety of delicious entrees and specials. Parking is a little scary—especially in you're in one of the spaces that exits directly into the 55 MPH road. Rustic decor. Good service.

I would give this place a 6 out of 5 star review if i could. You cannot go wrong with The Farmhouse! Everything from the environment to the service is absolutely fantastic. And the food is beyond amazing!

An excellent place for Valentines. Each meal could feed two. We split a very good Wedge salad, the grilled pork chops in a bourbon glaze (two large chops!) were tasty, and the prime rib was done to perfection. We somehow squeezed in dessert. The service was top notch, and it was a quiet place to enjoy a meal to ourselves. Highly recommended.

Great place for a Date! We did the dining side which is quiet with great service, although the bar looks like a place that will be fun with friends! Food was good (not amazing), plating was awesome, and our waitress was very good! Pricey but it's good to do that sometimes. Also, if you like seafood... this the place for you.

The farmhouse was wonderful! It was just the date night atmosphere that my husband and I needed! The food was delicious! We had the filet & shrimp & the chicken parmesan & it couldn't have been any better! We will definitely be back!
This was our second visit to the Farmhouse. First experience was amazing....this visit, not so much. Service at first was excellent, then dropped off exponentially. Long times between visits to table and food delivery. Had 3 in our party. One meal (Filet) was pretty good along with the sides. The other two meals (Prime Rib and Chicken) were very disappointing. Chicken was very dry; and the prime rib was extremely tough and unappetizing. Overall, disappointed based on meal prices.The prime rib at our first experience was phenomenal....not sure how such a different experience is possible. Would like to return, but not sure at this point.

We were super excited to go for the first time, however it wasn't the greatest atmosphere. The host that checked us in was wonderful and we had an amazing server, loved her... wish I could recall her name! Unfortunately, we were somewhat close to the kitchen even though it was not in view. We heard EVERYTHING that they yelled at one another, some not so nice and language not what we really wanted to hear while we ate! Lots of things being dropped and colorful terms used. I may have used certain words myself if I dropped something, but just not at a place where I work! The food was good, nothing super out of the ordinary, but was aligned with their prices. Once again, I wish I could recall our servers name, she was wonderful and very attentive!
The Farmhouse is a legendary restaurant that our family has visited several times for special Virginia Tech related occasions. Normally the food and service are outstanding but today for Sunday brunch both were a little lacking. We will still be back as we consider this an unusual lapse.

Ordered salmon , med rare. Was grossly overcooked! Service was excellent. Husband had prime rib that was not very tender! Need to order better cut of meat and improve the chef's cooking skills.

Outstanding dinner. It was our anniversary and our server got us a complementary dessert, which was really nice. The filet was excellent, but my wife's chicken fried chicken had a little too much pepper in the gravy.
