best BBQ I've had in a while

We just ate breakfast at White’s Wayside. Great breakfast! The cinnamon rolls were homemade and fresh out of the oven! The bread and the strawberry jam were so good! We were saddened to learn that after next weekend, they are closing. We will surely miss the great food and hospitality!

Very small, very awesome place!! Don't miss the trout sandwich! Or the BLT...or the chicken salad...or any of it!
The people are so great! The waitresses are the best! I haven't met the kiten staff, but they are awesome at what they do.
This is my favorite close to home stop!

Best biscuits and gravy! Fried catfish is great too. All baking done on site.

This place has the absolute best food, I've eaten a lot of places throughout VA and enjoy some great food. But this place is a hidden gem, not a diamond in the rough, it's a perfect clarity princess cut diamond set perfectly in a place your least expect to find food this good. You cannot pass through without stopping at least once. Featuring all local fresh ingredients, homemade delicious bread (seriously the best bread). I recommend anything, but have personally tried and loved the BLT (truly legendary), the Ruben, homemade bacon cheese burger, trout sandwich, and homemade fries. They also sell cuts of local meats when in stock, local honey, homemade local \\u0026 compound butter, and local ciders. The staff only make this stop even more enjoyable, the energy is fun and inviting and they're happy to crack a joke. Absolutely amazing customer service and their knowledge of food is astounding. There's places that make just good food to churn it out and then there's places that really understand food and make show stopping dishes. This is one of them, whether you eat in, take out, or eat at their available outdoor area, PLEASE do not pass White's Wayside.
