I ordered the biscuits and sausage gravy during a recent camping trip. The biscuit was wonderfully fluffy, and the sausage gravy had a good flavor, though it leaned a bit salty for my taste. Still, I’d definitely order it again. It’s such a treat to enjoy a warm meal without having to cook while camping.

Friendly cashiers!!
it is fun and hiking and swimming. seeing ducks and fishing
Great foot long hot dogs with chili and slaw, burgers and fries!
Breakfast biscuits are great too
Only place in the park with cell phone reception, FYI. Restaurant still advertised in some places hasn't been running since COVID. Limited hours at the camp store and was closed for 2 hours during an all staff meeting during the season. Wonderful hiking park, but definitely prep for ticks and check self after. Cabins are awesome!

We stopped at Douthat State Park for a hike with our dog while driving north to West Virginia. We did a loop hike including Blue Suck Falls, Tuscarora Overlook and Stony Run Falls, about 9 miles total. I was warned the waterfalls weren't much to get excited about, but the water level was high and I thought they were pretty nice. There were a lot of beautiful wildflowers blooming along the trail. The highlight was Tuscarora Overlook with fantastic views looking down over the park. There is also an historic old CCC cabin at the overlook. The loop had a decent amount of uphill but with switchbacks, it wasn't too bad. Overall, a great park for hiking and would like to return to explore more of the trails.
A great place to camp and eat at a lakeside restaurant and enjoy nature
This is such a beautiful park and one of VA’s original 6 state parks… We came here to pick a trail to hike and while buying our parking pass at the ranger’s station, we were given some suggestions and a brochure with all their trails. We chose the Blue Suck Falls trail and it was a nice, easy hike (even though they list it as being difficult) to the falls. There’s a neat bench made of stone up there too, and you’ll know you’ve made it because you’ll see the bench (the falls aren’t much to see, so it’s hard to know you’re there simply because of them). We’d definitely come back next time we’re in the area!

I've been going to douthat for years now and it easily tops any other state parks! The rangers are friendly and the cabins are cozy and fully stocked with cooking utensils.
Closed for the season but inside was beautiful.
