The food is quite good here. I’ve only been twice, but everything seems fine.

I personally wouldn’t recommend it, the owner is very disrespectful. Our food had bug eggs in it and he claims there was nothing wrong with it. Then proceeds to start yelling for us to pay when we wanted help with the bill because we didn’t eat the entree due to the bug eggs. Tom is very disrespectful it’s not worth the headache.

Had the steak and oysters. Oysters are fine but the steak tasted like it was boiled.

Our 1st time and the food was good and didn’t take long to receive our food. When ever we come back again to Petersburg, we will come back

Eating dinner and roach crawled on wall next to me oh I almost had a heartattack. Well the discounted my dinner. Wow. Understand restaurants have bugs but not crawling in my booth while eating. NEVER again for me.

I go to Captain Tom's at least once a month. I always get the same thing, onion rings, fried scallops and a baked potato and I have never never been disappointed

I’ve noticed this restaurant’s parking lot is always full, so my coworker and I decided to stop in and give it a try.

The atmosphere felt a little dated, and most of the patrons seemed to be older. My coworker ordered the catfish while I tried the flounder. Both dishes were served hot and fresh, but I found the portions a bit smaller than expected. I only had a handful of fries on my plate.

The food itself could use a touch more seasoning, though it was prepared well. Overall, I’d say the dining experience seems to reflect the tastes of its regular patrons.

I'm not a seafood person. We went here for a family birthday dinner. I'm going to be brutally honest. The food was tasteless. I got a steak. It was very dry. Overcooked. The server was the best part of the experience. We got onion rings and I feel like how can you go wrong. Blah. The hush puppies. Even worse. I would have rather gone across the parking lot to long John silver. Again, I don't know how the seafood was but I can say this is a place I would not visit again. The fries were probably the best part.

My medium well steak was tough. What did you expect?

I have been craving a good fried oyster platter from Captain Tom's...I'm in town so I give it a whirl. The atmosphere was as I remembered...20 years ago? The oysters were underwhelming to say the least...they looked like Katydids, but...the fries & slaw were good! I think I might try a seat @ The Croaker Spot in Petersburg! Perhaps the oysters will look like well...oysters! If nothing else I know the fish & cornbread will do me good! I had a great server tho...Amy!
