I visited on 11/23 with a group of 20. We came inside to the tasting room at 5:15 to finish our drinks before they closed at 5:30 and because it was very cold outside. A staff member told us that the room got louder when we came in and that we could go outside or leave… would not recommend coming here with a group. Not welcoming.

Awesome place with very friendly staff, gave great horse rides to kids, then adults

Wine was decent, food trucks left early but wasn't a menu that interested us anyway. Second vendor was packing up when we arrived(6:45). Staff was friendly, good crowd for trivia and live music too!

Came with the family this past weekend. It was both nostalgic and sentimental for us as we grew up coming to the vineyard as kids.
As we grew up and moved away for college and later our careers, it’s been many years since we’ve been back. Lots of great memories and now we are finally old enough to be able to enjoy the wine with the adults haha!

Great views and friendly staff! After all these years the vineyard is still so well kept! We will be back :)

Great views, but that's it. Pretentious and rude folks. Mediocre yet overpriced wine. Worker guy came around to every group there bluntly telling everyone "We're closed!" This was 15 minutes before they even closed, mind you. Not friendly at all. Then a pretentious old woman riding her bike around did the same thing; rode up to us and rudely told us "They're closing!" Sorry we supported your business, won't happen again. So many better places around; with views just as nice or better, with nice people and better wine.

Always a fun time at King! We love their Crosé, a very balanced and easy drinking rosé named after the town King is located in (Crozet). Beautiful grounds and many shade trees to enjoy the view under

Absolutely beautiful!

Incredible mountain views, however wine was mediocre at best. I got the red and white flights.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great wine and so much fun to go and watch polo, highly recommend.

Beautiful setting and decent wine (if a bit overpriced). Can get a little crowded on the weekends, and we had the unfortunate experience of being told to leave early (without forewarning) due to a wedding that was about to take place. No fault of the wedding participants, but the venue was less than polite (or coordinated) in how they cleared the space of non-wedding patrons. Definitely a one-and-done type stop.

We visited King Family Vineyard on Labor Day Monday, and we had a fantastic experience. We opted for the guided wine tasting, and Karen was excellent—she was incredibly knowledgeable about wines and made the tasting session enjoyable. All the wines were quite good, but our standout favorite was the Meritage; it's a red, full-bodied wine that we really loved.

The property itself is gorgeous, with lovely areas to sit and savor the wine and food. Many guests brought their own chairs and blankets, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. There's even a charming horse shelter on the grounds.

A small tip: be sure to bring your own food, as there's no restaurant on-site. They do have food trucks, but on the Monday we visited, the only vegetarian option was plain fries, which cost $10 for a small portion. There's also a small market where you can grab snacks—$7 for hummus and $8 for a small box of chips.

Overall, our experience was wonderful, but planning ahead for food might enhance your visit.

Very good field for polo and horses.

I had a wonderful experience here today! I opted for the white flight tasting, which featured an impressive selection of wines. The standouts were the Brut 2020, Sauvignon Blanc 2022, Roseland 2022, and Chardonnay 2022. Among these, the Roseland 2022 truly shone - its balanced flavor and smooth body made it a delight to sip. I got the white flight, a bottle opener, some food, and all of it reasonably priced.

Beyond the exceptional wines, I appreciated the vineyard's amenities. Parking was a breeze, with plenty of space available. The grounds offered ample room to stroll and take in the scenic views. The gift shop was also worth exploring, with its thoughtful selection of wine-related items and souvenirs.

Overall, I highly recommend King Family Vineyards to anyone seeking a pleasant and refined wine tasting experience. The combination of excellent wines, beautiful surroundings, and welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination in the Charlottesville area. Be sure to add it to your list!
