I keep hoping this spot will develop into something better but it hasn't so far. I may be missing something -- it's outlasted other restaurants in the area that seemed much stronger, so maybe I'm just going at the wrong times?

Waitress was a really nice high school student. She did a great job. I had the lunch special...egg salad sandwich and chips. Egg salad sandwich ? wasn't the greatest. I've eaten there several times before. Honestly... the place is close by. With the increase in gas prices, I have to weigh the cost of that against the mediocrity of the food. I think a change of cooks would be a good idea ?.

Very standard diner experience. Everything is fine...good enough that I go with a buddy once per week, not good enough to recommend to others...if that makes sense. Has a very country feel...collectables around the place, old pictures of crozet, etc are pretty neat.

Amazing Southern style homecookin'! Fluffy biscuits and savory sausage gravy! I'm thinking of Granny's house on Sunday morning. Yummy pancakes, crispy bacon, perfect grits, and eggs. The homefries are sliced potatoes and onions fried in bacon or sausage grease: May not be for everyone, but I loved them. The coffee was a bit strong for me, but perfect for my husband. The decor was... well, old bottles and train pictures. If you want a pretty resturant this is not for you. If you looking to eat good, decently priced food, then I highly recommend at stop at the Whistle Stop.

One of the most mediocre breakfasts I’ve ever had. The omelette was rubbery and small, the home fries seemed to be out of a freezer bag, and the country ham smelled like formaldehyde. But, the pancake is solid.

Classic diner. Fair prices and extremely friendly family service environment. I liked that the western omelet with potatoes and toast wasn't overly huge and greasy and the potatoes were freshly made and the toast was dry with option to butter myself. Some diner French everything in oil or butter.

Biscuits disappointing. Looked like they were frozen dough. Overcooked and dry. Order was delivered incorrectly and missing more than a couple of items. Potatoes with onions were nothing more than a few par-cooked rings sitting on top of sliced red B. Need to be chopped and tossed with them. Pancakes were delicious but not much larger than silver dollar. Don't know what changed in the business but it was far superior a few years ago
