Bubba's is a Danville institution and is commonly referenced when someone is looking for ice cream. It is conveniently located for a treat or easy meal when going for a drive in the country.
The new location (Rte. 41) is exponentially more inviting than the previous location on North Main Street both from a parking space, safety, & perimeter lighting standpoint.
I am not going to rave about the best ice cream in the world or best food but everything is adequate and matches the pricing reasonably well. My preference is hand-dipped ice cream and soft-serve is all that is offered here. Not a problem as I have cravings for different cold treats at different times. I am a sucker for a swirl waffle cone (strawberry/vanilla pictured). Hot dogs are standard "red dogs" that are popular in the region. Not everyone's cup of tea but I enjoy them immensely. The BBQ sandwich is a tasty item. Though basic, it is what you'd expect from an ice cream stand.
I have had different levels of service from their mostly teenager staff and that is to be expected. It has always been better than average and I have never experienced an outright rude employee on my many visits to Bubba's, contrary to other reviews.
BRING CASH!! The word that comes to mind is bootleg when I see an operation not take credit/debit cards and offer an ATM around back. It definitely seems like a stepping over dollars to pick up pennies mentality to not offer the most prevalent form of payment and I can only imagine how many cars don't stop or pull in and right back out due to this, but it's not my business and it doesn't stop me from enjoying this lovely spot.
Parking: The primary parking lot will fill up somewhat quickly but the neighbors parking lot is fair game so don't let that discourage you.

I'll be glad when Bubba's closes for the winter because I can't resist going here at least once a week. I'm not one for giving 5 ⭐ but honestly this delicious ice cream spot deserves a 4.5 because no place is perfect. The service has been some of the best in Danville. Some restaurants in the area could learn a thing or 2 about good customer service. The owner is top notch. I've seen him cleaning like an employee. He hit the jackpot opening this location. I hope it will continue to be a great place to get my ice cream fix. If you haven't been there, you're missing something sweetly delicious! ?

Definitely not the Bubba's I remember. It felt like only regulars were welcomed by the other patrons. We actually had someone get up and move when we attempted small talk. Maybe it's better during a less busy time but this trip was not an enjoyable experience.

The customer service was piss poor… everyone when u go to bubbas ice cream make sure I speak very loud so the lady can hear u my diabetic husband ordered a hot fudge sundae light sauced they loaded it with sauce when we took it back and they refused to remake it… and laughed about it afterwards also watched and proceeded to antagonize us as we left headed to our car we get it u didn’t care if it was fixed correctly because u didn’t have to eat it but me specifically saying he is diabetic and hearing him say it over 3 times to put like fudge on it and for her to lie saying he never said that.
