This location is a blast from the past. Golden Skillets used to reign the southern states and eastern seaboard. This location epitomizes the heyday of GS. The chicken liver box is our goto every time we visit. You also can’t beat their fried chicken. You will have to wait a bit for your order, but that’s because they are actually cooking it. Not pulling it from under a heat lamp behind the counter. Places like these should be thriving over over commercialized and fake country...
My husband and I stopped to gas up on our way back to NC, when I discovered Golden Skillet. I told my husband I wanted to try it and he kinda gave me the side eye, but nonetheless I like trying new restaurants when we’re out of town. I walk in and I’m greeted by two very nice young employees, however an older female employee was not as friendly. I don’t wanna say it’s because my skin is brown but I feel that way. My husband walks in to check on me and he gets the same...
Always great customer service. The wait time is reasonable because the food is always fresh. I love the fish dinner. Awesome selection of food! Great place to eat. Love, love, love the peach cobbler!
