The food that I purchased was cold. Wasn’t any love in it. Instant potatoes from the box. It needs an entire overhaul. Not like it used to be. I really used to love the place, but it was embarrassing on today. The staff were really nice and pleasant.

Food was awful! No flavor what so ever! Sanitizer bottle on table filled with water wth?! Waste of money and time
Old dirty restaurant, people, and food. The prices are high for trash bland food. Please don't waste your money here. Find something, anything else.

Mary's Diner used to be a wonderful and great place to eat. The cooks there should all follow the same recipe and if they are they need new cooks. The food tastes different daily and I am talking about the same items.

Meatloaf was cold and very little meat ,chicken breast was cut down look like a half of a breast. yams no flavor..not worth the price.$27.&change.
I only like two of the items I picked...for the most part food was cold and not worth the price. Will not be going back.
Delicious home cooking. Generous portions of good food at great prices.

I don't know where these folks are coming up with 4 stars. I've traveled this Country from top to bottom and side to side. Mary's Diner is what small town dining is all about! Family owned and operated with fresh ingredients, this place is an oasis between Roanoke and Martinsville. If you blink you'll drive past it but that's part of what makes it so awesome. These ladies know everyone and treat strangers like family. They certainly fed me well and I'll go out of my way just to go eat there again!

Salisbury steak was very tender. I could cut it with light pressure with my fork. And it was a very generous portion. The gravy and mashed potatoes were very good also. I could tell they weren't instant potatoes. The pecan pie was also very tasty. Like my mom used to make. My fiancee had the grilled chicken. A very generous portion as well. You can tell the diner has been there a while. Everything was clean and orderly. I highly recommend that if you are looking for some down home cooking; this is the spot.

I have not had the experience of dining in the diner but ordered carryout. The food was average, with I must say exceptionally well fried chicken. This was my first experience and hope that I can revisit on a day that the actual diner is open for seating.
