Everything was absolutely perfect! Clean restaurant! It was nice and quiet. The food was to die for. Fried in new oil. The portions are huge and the prices are fair. I ordered the Mayflower Special and it was more than I could ask for. Huge shrimp, fried oysters, hush puppies, scallops and french fries. All cooked to perfection. My husband ordered the fried trout combo with popcorn shrimp. He couldn't even finish because the portion was so huge! We loved it! Thank you so very much for the fresh, hot food and great service. I wish I could live directly across the street from Mayflower. Our server was super sweet. She checked on us several times. I should have given her a larger tip and I certainly will when we return. We will be back every week. ❤️?

The food was great!! The service however was horrible. The staff seemed to be on their phones more than helping the guests. I don't understand what kind of management would allow that to happen but I will never go

Fantastic food and huge portions for less than 20 bucks you can't beat it.
My husband took me to Mayflower for our 2nd Valentines married anniversary. It was my choice. What a big mistake! We ordered chopped sirloin with house salad, baked white potato, hush puppies and sweet tea w/ lemon. Well their house tossed salad came first with tea. The tea was extremely too sweet and weak. The tossed salad had only 2 small tomatoes and one cucumber. When waitress brought chopped sirloin steak it was NOT chopped and had no sauted onions and green bell peppers with it. PATHETIC!!! In fact, the so-called sirloin meat looked more like salisbury steak and tasted like it as well. We asked for hushed puppies instead of buttered french toasted bread. Waitress brought both.Turned out the hushed puppies were very dry and hard like they were cooked yesterday. She brought my husband a baked white potato, but brought me a baked sweet potato. When I protested, she claimed that's what I ordered. I took a DEEP breath. Nothing was good abt my meal and it was a spoiled Valentines date out with my hubby, even though I tried to make the best of it b/c it wasn't my husband fault. We will just strike Mayflower off our list of nice quality service & food restaurants to go.I will be belly aching abt this ordeal to anyone and everyone for a long time. Because this probably has happened to others customers.Sorry cooks, service (waitresses) and food at this restaurant nowadays!

We stop here to have a meal this is not the first May Flower we have been to we asked for a whole lemon just cut in half so we can squeeze the lemon juice across our food she insisted they don't have whole lemons all they have is lemon slice how in the ham sandwich are you going to squeeze lemon juice across your food from a lemon slice you must have a whole lemon in order to cut them into slice why do you have to lie so we just got up and walked out a party of 20

My friend and I were there yesterday. I ordered the 3 piece large combo. It was very good. We asked about a side salad instead of coleslaw an she said we could substitute it. When we paid our bill we asked about the additional charge and the hostess said was because we got a salad instead of coleslaw. I told her that the waitress said it was fine to substitute and did not say there was an additional charge. She said oh well she’s new. I said I think you need to instruct your way to waiters and waitresses that they need to tell customers that there’s an up charge if you get a salad. I also do not like the additional charge that you put on the entire ticket because I used a debit card. Debit cards are paid directly from my bank the minute you put the transaction in it’s not like a credit card where you have to wait and you get charged a fee because of it when I ask about that she pointed to a very very tiny sign that explained about the charge if you use a credit card. I come there with my family often and there’s usually at least 4 to 6 of us there. Although the food is good I think this kind of ruined my experience and I’m not really sure I want to come back again.
