Old 97 Tavern Reviews
Absolutely TINY portions (will attach photo in comments)
Overpriced, for overcooked food. Ordered a BLT, bacon was burnt and bread over toasted, like a crouton sandwich 😂😂
Chicken strips were so disappointing, small. Maybe an oz each, not including the heavily coated batter to make up for lack of protein. $10 too much for what you’re given.
Fries EXTREMELY over salted.
Our server checked on us once. Yikes.
3/10, will not be returning....read full review
this place is absolutely atrocious. they treat employees terribly. they leave good out overnight and serve it. The owner has a drug problem. this is just an example of a child using daddies money to play business man. you will probably get sick eating here
I highly recommend reserving the event space here for any work events, birthday parties etc. They go above and beyond to ensure everything is perfect! Also there is no fee for the room (unlike many other local spots) there is just a minimum food purchase amount which is very easy to meet with a party of 10+

Old 97 Tavern, located in a neighboring state, offers a limited food menu but receives praise for its tasty dishes such as the Old 97 burger with a unique fried green tomato addition, the wedge salad, battered fish, and the highly recommended build-a-sandwich option. The build your own burger option is particularly popular, allowing for gluten-free choices. House-made chips are a favorite among customers. The food here can be sporadically good, but the burgers are consistently quite good, especially the Old 97 Burger, which is considered a true masterpiece by many. Guests have enjoyed the Chicken Caesar Sandwich, calling it brilliant, and corn dogs are also appreciated. Service is friendly and respectful, with staff greeting guests enthusiastically and checking in to ensure a great experience. Customers have noted that the atmosphere is cool and inviting, with some suggesting that more comfy bar seats might enhance the space. The drinks feature a well-curated selection of beer and wine. The clean, spacious interior highlights the town's history with exposed bricks and offers flexible seating for groups of various sizes. The event space is highly recommended for work events and birthday parties, with no fee for the room, just a minimum food purchase. Overall, Old 97 Tavern is a welcoming place where guests often feel at home, enjoying good food and friendly people.
