Every single time we have been here in the past 6 months it has taken at least 45 minutes in drive thru and that’s with 2 maybe 3 other vehicles in the drive thru. The inside of the restaurant is nasty, the staff sucks. How damn long does it take to fix some chicken nuggets. You can go to a fancy steakhouse, wait on a table, eat, and be out and on your way before you even get up to the order window at this Zaxbys. Not to mention, every single time they have messed something up in the order. Worst fast food experience ever.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience was terrible from start to finish.

First off, the food was cold and tasted old, like it had been sitting in a window for ages. The chicken was dry and overcooked instead of hot and juicy, and the fries were limp, greasy, and barely warm.

What really pushed me over the edge was the portion size of the fries. I ordered large fries for my two girls, who absolutely LOVE Zaxby’s fries and chicken, and what we got was a sad little handful of fries in each box. You can literally count them in the pictures. Calling that a “large” is honestly borderline robbery for the price you’re charging.

My kids were excited for their favorite meal and ended up disappointed, staring at a few cold fries and dried-out chicken strips. For what we paid, this is completely unacceptable.

On top of the food quality and portions, the drive-thru experience is just as frustrating. They automatically pull you forward to a parking spot even when you’re the only car in line, and you end up sitting there for 15–20 minutes wondering why it took so long for a couple of kids’ meals and a salad. (To come out hard and nasty) What makes it worse is watching cars pull in 5–10 minutes after you, and when the employee finally comes out, they’re carrying your order and the other car’s order at the same time. It feels like they’re holding tickets and batching them just to make their screen look good, while customers – including my two hungry girls – are stuck waiting.

I’ve attached photos so management can see exactly what was served. This meal felt careless, lazy, and like no one bothered to check quality or portions before it went out. If this is the new standard, you’re going to lose a lot of loyal customers. Sad and pathetic.

Drive thru is the slowest ever. I've never seen nothing like it. 25 mins In the drive thru. Seems like the working is completing one order before going to another.

The only reason I gave one star was because the lady that took my order was so nice about the 30 minutes it took to get a 4 finger plate. There’s no help. The rest of the staff look like they don’t want to even work. My food was warm at most when I finally got it. Top it all off they were out of cookies again! Like this the 6th time I’ve come in and there’s no cookies. As a general manager in the food industry I know it’s rough out here, but there is no supervision in the store and I watched customers walk about because nobody is taking their order. Employees walking around the lobby drinking sodas like they are customers. It’s a circus here. Maybe they need a change in ring leader.

Stopped by the Zaxby's here in Danville, VA, for a quick lunch and finally got to try the Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Honestly, it's a new favorite.
The chicken itself is perfectly breaded and incredibly juicy, but the real star is the flavor and heat. They've nailed the spice level—it's got that wonderful, building warmth that makes your tastebuds stand up and take notice, but it never crosses the line into painful. It's a great flavor that's complemented by just a nice amount of heat. If you like a kick without needing to chug a gallon of water, this is it.
But what's a sandwich without the perfect side? You absolutely cannot overlook the seasoned crinkle cut fries. They're golden, crispy, and the signature seasoning is savory and addictive—the perfect textural contrast to the sandwich.
Pro-Tip for Maximum Satisfaction: When you order your combo, spend the extra dollar! The upgrade for a large fry and a large drink is a no-brainer. More of those fantastic fries and a big refreshing drink to wash down that satisfying spice is definitely the way to go.
If you're in Danville and craving a top-tier spicy chicken sandwich and some killer fries, Zaxby's is a solid choice. Highly recommended!

I just Ordered 2 wings and things. Young lady at drive-thru told me that it would be a 20 minute wait because they was closing in a few minutes. I told her that was fine. Luckily I only waited 5 minutes. Food was cold and look like scraps. I will not be back at this location.

Alex saved the day! My wife and I were waiting at the counter for about 5 minutes and no one even greeted us. Alex seemed to have come from break and when I told him the situation he addressed it right away. He even went in the back to expedite the order when it was taking a while. Thank you Alex.

hard to do DoorDash with the dining room locked! Update: I really dont like doing DoorDash from this place. I literally just unassigned 2 orders because of how long it was taking. After the restaurant confirms an order, Dashers get a notification. After I accept an order and drive all the way to the restaurant, it should be ready. I waited there for 8 minutes and it didnt even look like they had even started on the food. What's done is done, there is no correcting it. I wont take any Zaxby order after that, that's for sure!

Not idea... expected better tasking food. Everything was covered with salt, even the toast.
Coke drink dispenser was put of flavors including coke.
Tables were dirty from last guest... no one cleaned any table the entire time we waited and ate.
Would rather go hungry before returning.
