First time stopping here and was greeted by Shawna who assisted me in finding the correct order for me. She could have let me order whatever I wanted but she genuinely asked me what I was on the mood to eat and rang up my order accordingly instead of charging me a la carte. When my food was ready she open the tray and explained to me what I was looking at and what to expect. This small gesture is what is missing from today’s customer service. Shawna went above and beyond and she didn’t have to! The place was empty but it won’t deter me from patronizing this place again. Fries are amazing, catfish was fried perfectly and the cornbread oh my, I should have ordered an extra piece with extra honey butter, it’s that GOOD! Thanks again Shawna, see you soon

I been going to the skrimp shack on wayside dr. Dumfries. I think they have a new owner, because the Mac n cheese is like Kraft box made. They reduced the amount of fry fish portion. Not the same I will never go to it again. What a disappointment 😞. I loved this place. It sucks now.
Fish was over cooked and extremely dry. My first time having Skrimp shack, and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Attempting to compare this to good southern cooking is just disrespectful to southern cooking.

Shrimp Po-Boys were excellent. The service was very slow and it took almost 25 min to get my to go order after we ordered it. Average atmosphere and ot could have been cleaner but it was not bad.

I’m so mad they have New Management and you can tell! This place was AMAZING before, It’s not the same AT ALL! You can’t even order online on their website anymore… as I’m in there multiple ppl saying where is my drink? Ketchup? Why isn’t my sauces that comes with the meal not in the bag. You have to TRIPLE CHECK everything now. I’ll pass.

I experienced one of the worst customer service ever at this place. I ordered a Nashville catfish sandwich while talking on the phone with my husband and was charged $9.45 plus $.75 for the Nashville sauce. I went ahead and paid for it but my husband informed me that I shouldn’t have been charged the $.75 because two days prior to that day, he had ordered the same sandwich and he wasn’t charged for the $.75. I then asked the cashier why was there this discrepancy when my husband had previously came in and purchased the same sandwich without being charged $.75. She’s said the $.75 was extra for the Nashville sauce, but there was a sign advertise there that said Nashville sandwich (you choose the meat/fish). I asked her how much was that sandwich and she told me it was $9.45. I told her that was the sandwich I wanted the one where I was not charged the extra $.75. I politely asked her if I could speak to the manager so that she could fix the error. She then proceeds behind the counter where I can clearly hear the manager yelling,” I already made the sandwich! I can’t remake it!” The manager, then comes around the corner and I explained to her that I simply wanted the sandwich that was advertise on their counter, which was $9.45, which was what I ordered. She then begins to yell and say that they doesn’t put the sauce on the sandwich and that I have to put the sauce on the sandwich. I told her the sauce on or off the sandwich wasn’t the problem, but the problem was me being charged an extra $.75 when I should’ve only been charged $9.45. She kept telling me that she doesn’t put the sauce on the sandwich. obviously there’s a comprehension problem with the manager. I then asked her if there was another manager that I could speak with, and she told me that she was the manager in an extremely rude and condescending way. Now as a business woman and owner of a few businesses, I know that is not the way to conduct business. My husband was on the phone the entire time and he said he wanted to speak to her, and I had him on speakerphone. She then yells and says that she’s not gonna talk to him and for him to call the store. I let her know that we were both trying to call the store and put in the order before, but no one answers the phone. To diffuse the situation, I simply asked for a refund. She went to the cash register and printed a receipt and put it on the counter and then walks away while I’m standing there not sure what was going on with our situation because she never said anything she just put the receipt down on the counter and walked away. After about a minute or two I asked her am I done? Did you refund me my money?She then points to the receipt on the counter not saying a word. I will never return to this business again due to the lack of customer service, respect and comprehension skills. Absolutely terrible, classless and disgraceful.

When I asked for certain items, they said they couldn't make them because they closed in 15 minutes and they were cooking fried food. I hope they get better customer service training soon.

I am from NC and it's definitely hard to find some good southern seafood around here. We LOVE this place. Food is delicious! I LOVE the whiting, okra and hushpuppies, my daughter loves the "skrimp", and my hubby loves the catfish! The owner always makes us feel at home whenever we visit and always makes sure you are enjoying your meal. Prices are reasonable! The only issue I have had is when I tried to order for delivery. I received the wrong order. I took the order back, and it was corrected right away! I recommend dining in..food is hot and fresh off the press!

We love the Skrimp Shack food, but most of all, Shawna deserves a lot of the credit from her employer! She is one of the first employees you see. She is very welcoming, pleasant, and accomodating. If the place isn't busy, she'll walk over to see how your meal was, and just makes you feel at home. She always thanks servicemen for their service. Her iced tea is GREAT. Wish we had a SKRIMP SHACK somewhere near Potomac Mills...your food is delicious. I love your catfish, and my husband loves the shrimp basket...and we always make room for your delicious banana pudding! Keep up the good work Shawna; we hope yo be by soon!

The absolute BEST fried seafood I have ever had. It's soft, it's tender and it is delicious. The price is decent considering it is seafood and nowadays people charge an arm and a leg for three slices of most fish.
And the crisp on the outside of the seafood is absolutely wonderful! It doesn't take away from the fish but instead adds a wonderful seasoned flavor, enhancing the experience.
This doesn't even MENTION the wonderful staff! They are friendly, fun and got some wonderful personalities! Top notch service and a clean environment! The seating area is very nice and the dim lighting gives a comfy experience! I may be biased as I prefer not to have bright lights lasering into my pupils while I eat but definitely come sit inside for a bit! It's a nice experience.
Will definitely be back and will be reccommending others!
