Great spot!! If you travel to the Blacksburg/Eggleston area and haven't been to The Palisades ...you're missing out!! Awesome food, cool old place right on the New River, and excellent staff ...a definite keeper!! Wish I knew about The Palisades years ago ...

Service was polite but not very attentive. Got stuck upstairs in the boring attic even though there were open seats on the main floor. Lobster & Crab bisque tasted like saltwater and was served cold followed immediately by our entrees. Pork Belly was great but pizza left little to be desired. Very disappointing after hearing great reviews.

Great place to enjoy friends and food. It’s out of the way but that’s what makes it special.

Great place truly! I came in here back in October with 2 out of 3 of my brothers for the youngest birthday, he wanted to visit because a teacher he had back in middle school was preforming live music and he wanted to go see him. We had gotten 2 different types of pizza, the ribeye steak, 2 alcoholic beverages, and some dessert. I was expecting the bill to be a lot more than what it was which is always a pleasant surprise haha. My mom dad brother and I came back a few days ago and everything was as spectacular as before! Only complaints is you will definitely feel like your at the wrong place once you get there but the travel is definitely worth it.Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free options

Me and my husband have dined here at least 50 times over the past couple of years (we live an hour away). Easily my favorite place to eat. Food is always great. I love that alot of their food is locally sourced. I just wish Palisades was closer to home so I could go more often.

One of my favorite places to visit. Menu is seasonal with daily specials that I usually go for. I have visited multiple times and had not had bad experience, regardless if it is date night or dinner with the kids.On one occasion we had to change plans and go to Palisades 30 minutes before closing. We were not sure if they would take us but they did and we did not feel pressured to be quick and the food was great as usual.I would recommend getting an appetizer usually good and interesting flavors. I usually go for the “Chef’s Whim” and I am not disappointed. Pizza is good too. I like their mash potatoes and cheesy grits sides.Wine prices are reasonable.Limited but interesting cocktail selection. Good craft beer selection, bottle and can only, no draft.Great overall.Food - 4.3Service - 5Atmosphere- 5Drinks - 4

My husband did some research and found The Palisades on Google. We were not disappointed. What a unique and delicious dining experience. There were 5 in our party, we shared 2 appetizers (hush puppies and steak tips), both were large portions and tasty. I ordered the trout, husband had pot roast, others had pizza, vegetarian pasta, and lamb. We shared the 12 days of Christmas desserts. I highly recommend and hope to go back. It was dark on our drive there but I bet in daylight, it is just a beautiful drive to get there from Blacksburg.

Easily one of my favorite restaurants from when I was a non-vegan student at Tech taking my roommate and even to now as a vegan alum.Particularly the pizza. After an 8-year hiatus I thought that maybe it was better then because I didn't know any better, but nope. The quality of the dough and the pizza making still held up.Palisades, please continue what you've guys been doing all these years. I'd love to introduce more people to y'all. But maybe continue with Sunday brunch again (with vegan options?)

Make the 15-minute journey from Blacksburg to Eggleston for a super dining experience!!! So enjoyed the fantastic setting of a former general store. Attentive service. The special pizza was superb and we shared as a starter. Many daily specials. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and the chicken special was succulent. Some impressive cocktails, and good selection of beer and wine priced fairly by the glass. Highly recommended.

This is a gem tucked away in one of the most beautiful settings. Great gluten free options and locally sourced foods. Probably best gluten free pizza we have tasted.

When you arrive, you are curious as to what time warp you have just walked through. But, as you enter, your senses are overwhelmed; the sights, the smells, the atmosphere, is just amazing! The Palisades Restaurant was more than we imagined!

This place is in the absolute middle of nowhere, feels like you’re being taken in the mountains to be kidnapped lol, But this place is the COOLEST hole in the wall I have ever been to. Our group of 9 ordered a variety of different things and everything was SPECTACULAR. One of the best places for great flavor layering, locally sourced food, and a great atmosphere. Next time we’re in town we’re definitely gonna be back and order half the menu

Very nice. Service was excellent. They ran out of 2 different entrees. But everything was still good. We brought our own bottle of wine. A $7 corkage fee was very reasonable.
