Went for the restaurant week lunch special. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
We went for restaurant week menu. First time at Alta Strada but definitely will come back, soon.
It was ok. We came for DC winter restaurant as a place we hadn't tried. The ambiance was lively. The hosts were not helpful or engaging when I said I was there to meet my wife that arrived earlier. They just stared at each other like I spoke another language. The waiter was pleasant, quick and attentive. The seating seemed staged for the maximum number of of people the could put in the space and the gentleman sitting behind me both struggled to seat comfortably as we were both tall. They brought out a bottle of of spring water and bread - both as extra costs writtten in fine print. The food was ok, competently prepared and plated. We ordered calamari, meatballs, lasagna and rockfish. All were delivered hot and were good. We finished with the cannoli and tiramisu. Both were also good.
Quiet atmosphere, great food and quick service! Had a great weekday evening dinner for two.
The arugula salad with artichokes was very good and perfectly dressed with a light lemony dressing. Rigatoni with sausage also delicious. Our server was very pleasant and helpful but not intrusive. Another great dining experience!
A wonderful meal for our son's birthday. Terrific service and great food—a stellar evening at his favorite restaurant.
We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and it was extremely cold every time the entrance door was opened.
Service was slow. They sat is near the door and it was freezing, so every time the door opened we were hit with freezing air
The food lived up to its reputation—the chicken parm was perfect, and the pasta was flavorful and uniquely prepared. A wonderful dining experience from start to finish.
Everything we ordered was delicious and the staff were very kind. The view of the Christmas tree was beautiful, too.

The food was delicious and 5 star. HOWEVER, the service was laughable at best. It took the waiter over 30 minutes to take our order and the restaurant was empty. Granted we have a large group of 7 people, but each process took way longer than it should and maybe this is the "true Italian" vibe of lunches. Other staffs were doing other things or chitchatting but no one offered to help. Thank goodness we were not in a rush that day, or I would be really upset about it. The restaurant was cold inside and we had to wear a jacket in the beginning. It did get better after a while.
Enjoyable evening food was good, laid back ambience. Our waiter Milo if I remember correctly was absolutely amazing!! He made the whole evening and meal so special.
Excellent Italian food with a good selection of different options. Enjoyed it so much I made a group reservation for a large business dinner next month.
Waiter forgot my wine, they brought my wife the wrong dish order, and the food was just ok.
The mussels appetizer was really yummy and the wait staff was fantastic. My husband had the bolognese lasagna and it was definitely worth it. The atmosphere was fun and will definitely return!
