I really want to like this place, I love Taiwanese food and my son really loves basil popcorn chicken. The staff is also super sweet and it's conveniently inside 99 Ranch so I can do some other shopping as well. The Popcorn chicken, while delicious, had a hair in it that I quickly disposed of since we did take out and my son really wanted to eat the chicken. The braised pork on noodles were mid at best. Will have to pass on coming back. While I don't know what goes on behind kitchen doors at all restaurants, I also don't ever want to see the proof that things aren't going well.

The popcorn chicken was so good, and a big portion too! The beef noodle soup was ok - the broth was flavorful and the beef plentiful, but the noodles themselves were overcooked and mediocre. Would definitely be back though just for the popcorn chicken, and maybe to try other dishes.

Inside 99 Ranch, you order at a little kiosk. I came after seeing they had the one thing I’ve been craving since I left Taiwan, and that was the intestine soup. It’s rare to find around here and so I was happy to be able to eat it where I live. Although it didn’t come with much noodles and the soup wasn’t as thick as I am used to, the soup and pork was a lot so I was able to take it home and just add more boiled noodles to it. The fried rice was light and pretty big. I will definitely be sure to check out their other Taiwan dishes!

I ordered a sticky rice with sausage today. It was almost $9 for such a small portion. The sausage tasted weird which I couldn't even finish. Not recommend it.

I ordered the pork intestine and pig blood soup, and I felt that the soup contained a lot of MSG or chicken essence! After eating it, I felt thirsty all night long and kept drinking water!

45 minutes after I ordered I went into the place expecting my order completed. But they said they didn't get my order. The girl was on her phone instead of doing her work. Then I had to wait another 30 minutes for my order. These people won't even get your order if you order online.

We ordered lots food. Only intestine vermicelli is okay, otherwise I won't say they served Taiwanese food. Pretty much

Ok so I finally got to try this place out! I've been to the one in Rockville (in a gas station) and was excited to hear that they opened one in Ranch. I wanted to give this place more stars because I love Taiwanese food and the flavors are there but the price and portion size is what disappointed the most. I got the beef noodle soup, fried porkchop over rice, and pork braised rice bowl. The beef noodle soup was flavorful and much better tasting then Yu Noodle and A&J. They gave a lot of beef chunks but not enough of the noodles. And this costs $15 which is pretty pricey. The fried porkchop over rice came in a bento style box with the fried pork on the side. The bento came with tomato and egg and some veggies as sides. The fried pork was good and had the right authentic flavors. $13 The braised pork over rice was solid. Even though I can make it at home, I liked theirs and it portions was OK. If I was really hungry I dunno if I'll be full. $7 Overall I think I'd come back because its probably the best tasting Taiwanese food in the area but its just a bit pricey and portions small for the price. If they ever make the portions bigger, I would definitely give more stars. They probably have high rent costs being in this area and in Ranch 99.

I have ordered food here multiple times since they opened. Most of the time they were good. I especially like their beef noodle soup, very tasty, way better than that of A&J. I agree with some of the other reviews that their portion is on the small side, especially the braise pork rice,卤肉饭, very little pork. Also the veggies in their bento box are very mushy, seems to be overcooked. My last order of popcorn chicken was kinda disappointing. It had a strong oily smell. Not sure what happened, they might have used a different oil to fry the chicken. And the color of the popcorn chicken looked really pale, not golden brown. They probably only fried the chicken once instead of twice. This is a new restaurant and they might need more time to get everything right. I am willing to give them another try later.
