Go-to spot for sushi. It's a classier interior, which we appreciate. I haven't tried their entrees because we always just get sushi. There's a wide variety of rolls, including hand rolls (salmon skin is my favorite hand roll). Everything is fresh and tasty.

I absolutely love this place. Full stop. There’s always a tempting selection of sushi to choose from, and honestly, it’s hard not to over-order “just one more dish”. The chicken karaage is a personal favourite — crispy, juicy, and dangerously moreish. The mini salad deserves a shout-out too; that dressing? Chef’s kiss. I regularly go for the chicken yaki soba or the beef teriyaki, both beautifully cooked, full of flavour, and consistently spot on. Add gyoza as a starter and you’re winning at life. The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely attentive — the kind of place where you feel remembered, not processed. Every time I’m back in Fairfax County, this is the place we go. Always such a welcoming vibe. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 stars. No notes.

Truly the worst sushi I've had, and we've eaten a lot of sushi in this area and on the west coast. Nigiri was okay, but the rolls were gross. Didn't taste fresh or look appealing (there was almost a musty taste to the rolls), and the chopped up fish in the them was an unappealing texture. I wish I had not let a friend convince me to go here for lunch instead of one of my regular sushi places. Didn't eat much and brought my leftovers home to my husband who pronounced them gross after a few pieces.

I feel obligated to share my gross experience. I left feeling extremely uncomfortable because of hygiene. Later I found out through a friend that arigato sushi is notorious for using mop water to serve their customer.
I’m Korean but I don’t look like one so when the staff said “when important guests come over we serve bottled water, but regular customers don’t get that” I understood everything!!!!
Based on what I saw and heard, I cannot trust they maintain basic cleanliness and equitable treatment of all guests. Stay away from this filthy restaurant!!!

Best sushi restaurant around, they've been there for years and the quality is better than any other place I've been. I love trying new rolls but I'm often disappointed at other places, where as Arigato is always perfection! Love the Chesapeake roll, rainbow roll, negi toro maki, unaki maki, and golden bridge roll!!! Tempura & kitsu apps are also delicious everytime as well as the chicken fried rice, it's so fresh tasting & fluffy and not greasy like other places. You can't go wrong with the sushi/sashimi special, its a nice combo with lots of different bites. You really can't go wrong with anything here!!!!!

My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here, and we both got diarrhea. This was the only meal we had for the day so it couldn’t have been anything else we ate besides the food from here.
We’ve been here once before and it was fine…but I guess this time not.

This casual Japanese restaurant, located in Fairfax Center alongside a large Walmart, Lidl Supermarket, and various other shops, truly stands out with its wide variety of entrees and drinks. The atmosphere is cozy, clean, and beautifully adorned with Japanese decorations, including bonsai plants, traditional paintings, sculptures, and aquariums, creating an authentic dining experience.
The food is consistently fresh and delicious, offering incredible value for the quality and quantity. The service is commendable, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The Sushi Omakase is outstanding, accompanied by a flavorful miso soup with katsuobushi (bonito flakes) and a delightful house salad. The omakase came with expertly curated appetizers, featuring tempura (shrimp and whiting fish), a refreshing tuna and avocado ginger salad, and agedashi tofu. The chef’s selection of 10 pieces of nigiri sushi is exceptional—each piece is fresh and provides a melt-in-your-mouth experience.
The Chirashi is equally fantastic, served with perfectly seasoned rice and fresh sashimi. It’s a visual and culinary delight that leaves a lasting impression.
