I used to order chat papri from Bombay Cafe and always loved it. I noticed recently , the chat quality is not the same. I normally get papri chat without bala (personal preference) and found out that my chat is just yogurt water with a few chickpeas and potatoes floating around. For over $11 , the yogurt water is not worth it and can’t call it chat.

Food is super awesome! Staff are usually helpful, it does depend on how busy they are. My favorite thing is that they have packaged food that you can grab and an extensive traditional desserts bar. I usually grubhub the food to my place, since it's not exactly on the way from work for me. But whenever I need a treat, this place usually pops up in my brain asap!

This place is a-ok. I like the chaats here, but the thali platters, not so much. Bombay Cafe is a bit disorganized with figuring out orders, and the sofas are quite unclean. The dessert tastes old, but at least the naan is fresh. The entrees are a bit bland. This place isn't too bad, but there's definitely better Indian restaurants to go to.

The food here is hit or miss. The service here is absolutely horrible. The guy (26 to 32 yrs old) that work the cashier and dishes the food is the worst. He has no customer service skills whatsoever. The place needs an upgrade badly .All seats are old and torn. Tables are always dirty so clean it yourself if you want to sit and eat. I guess the owner only cares about making money. Who knows ??

I wish I could give this place 0 star, but since that’s not possible, they are stuck with 1. I went there with a few friends of mine to this awful place few days ago and right from the word go, the cashier, about 23-27 year old looking guy had an attitude with us, wouldn’t speak out loud so we had to ask him to repeat himself a few times that made him agitated but not our fault for speaking under his breath, then asked for a specific thing from the menu, he said he doesn’t make those on orders and he removed a lid from a buffet section and showed me I will get that if I went ahead and ordered it, and if I had a weak stomach, I promise I would have vomited right there and then because the item he removed the lid from, was dry and looked like it’s been sitting there for days, then moving on to ordering another specific item, he said the same thing, he couldn’t do that simply bcoz it was too late for them to make anything bcoz they were about to close (mind you we went there at 8:50 and they close at 10pm) then we asked for chutney (green sauce) they charged us $3 for a tiny little cup which usually people give for free or charge a dollar, my friend asked for another small cup of sauce to go with other food, which to the same cashier replied “I already gave you one, can’t give you any more without charging you” it’s one thing to look at a customer and say no nicely, but it’s another to look totally opposite way and mumble something else under your breath after saying no rudely! We ordered side dishes, and our total came to $60, I can only imagine if they were nice enough to let us order any entrees, our total would have gone well over $100! Food was disgusting, customer service was even worse and seating area was just as dirty! NOT coming here ever again and whoever reads this, please save your time and money and go to else where bcoz they clearly don’t care about customers!

Was served a lassi out of the fridge that had gone bad. Normally a bad lassi would taste acidic, but they masked the taste with baking soda, I had only noticed the fraud when it was too late. I used to love this place and grew up on Bombay cafe samosas. I won’t be back

This is the only place in the DMV area that sells hot, delicious ALOO PARATHAS Punjabi style with lemon pickle (tangy), white butter, and yogurt! Do try it! I am seriously addicted to them!

Last night, my wife and I decided to give Bombay Cafe a try for dinner, and well, let's just say it was a bit like watching a movie where the trailer was better than the film.First off, we walked in with over an hour to spare before closing, but you'd think we'd rocked up at midnight the way the vibe felt – a bit like the staff had already mentally clocked out for the day.On to the main act – the biryani. We ordered both chicken and goat, eagerly anticipating a riot of flavors and a generous meaty feast. But alas, what we got was more of a cameo appearance from the meat rather than a starring role. For the price we paid, I was expecting a treasure hunt of chicken and goat pieces, but ended up playing 'Where's Waldo?' instead. The taste? If biryanis were siblings, these two were definitely identical twins – hard to tell apart. I'm pretty sure it was just spiced rice playing dress-up with different meats. But hey, credit where it's due, they were piping hot, giving us a bit of warmth on a chilly evening. The place calls itself a cafe, but it's more restaurant-y, with a sweet counter that could double as a mini candy museum. After the biryani experience, though, our sweet tooth decided to go into hibernation. In a nutshell, Bombay Cafe felt like a bit of a one-hit wonder – it looked the part but didn't quite hit the high notes. Maybe we just caught them on an off day, but for now, our biryani cravings will have to look elsewhere for satisfaction.
