I have driven past Captain Pell's many times and finally gave it a try with a dinner with friends on a weekday night. The restaurant isn't fancy but the server was friendly and the food good. It was an enjoyable dinner. I would definitely go back.

This food that I ordered via doordash was horrible. One my food was misleading because what I received was not catfish. Is the Asian fish called swai. It was cooked and dirty oil and burned/mushy. The french fries was dirty and had a burnt after taste as well. Then the crab cake. The crab cake just taste like it was bad and full of fillers. I didn't even touch neither one but I did taste a little of the catfish and I was like no this is not catfish worst dish ever from doordash.

The food was okay, but my snowcrab legs were warm... It was almost as if they had been sitting out. The only thing I know is they were not freshly cooked. The dining room had a strange odor. It didn't smell like seafood or anything I could even describe. My daughter couldn't eat her food due to feeling overwhelmed by the scent in the restaurant. On the positive side our waiter was friendly. Captain Pell's was a one time visit for us. It was nice to try a new place but I don't think we will be back.

Captain Pell’s is my favorite place is northern Virginia to get crabs. They are always cooked to perfection . Every time I come, there’s no wait. I must have found a hidden gem.

I've been to this crab house over 5x and each time, they deliver greatness! The servers are never lazy and are friendly. The food is always constant in taste and freshness. Atmosphere is always family friendly. One small thing I recommend is to upgrade the restrooms' paint, lighting, & smell and the experience will be more than perfect! ?? keep up the great work.

Super casual and super delicious except for the coleslaw or crab cake lol but everything else is perfection! The blue crabs are always delicious and the crab dip is probably the best I've ever had. Fried oysters are another solid choice!

I can count on Captain Pell's for their delicious snow crab legs, scallops, and fresh oysters. The Fairfax location is so convenient, saving me a trip to Maryland to get those when I crave them.Parking: This location has a large parking lot.

How about feeling that you went from the heart of Fairfax to coastal Maryland? Super fresh seafood... A little of every favorite coast stuff... Scallops, lobster, snow crabs, oysters and of course... Blue crab! If you are pressed for time... Skip driving 2 hours to get the same experience. Great food and service is all I ask for normally and you will sure find it there.

Disappointed once again. I have been a patron of this establishment since they served crabs in their original location on Lee Highway many moons ago. I haven’t returned to Captain Pell’s for several years because of the quality of the crabs I received from my last two orders. They were less than spectacular. Once I had to do a return trip to replace the crabs because they were empty and full of water. When I got home it was the same product. Tonight I ordered jumbo crabs, they were large crabs at best. The first four crabs were waterlogged, so much so that when I opened them or cracked a claw they were literally spitting at me. The fluid hit me in the face, neck and up my arm. I gave them another shot and was hopeful today would be a better experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Waste of my money!
