I came to CAVA today (around 4:40 PM on september 5) and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. I’m a loyal customer — I always eat at CAVA, I’m part of the rewards program, and I spend a lot of money here — so I expect a consistent level of professionalism. I asked for extra sauce in my bowl, and the older, heavier-set employee preparing it seemed bothered by the request. She turned to her coworker, spoke in Spanish, and then said in English right in front of me, “it’s like soup now, it’s like soup” before moving on to the next customer.
The younger coworker was polite but seemed embarrassed by the situation. At the end of the day, I’m the one paying for the food, and I want it the way I’ll enjoy it — not the way the employee thinks it should be. She was acting as if she was the one who was going to be eating my bowl, when in reality we all have our own preferences. I didn’t address it in person since there was a line behind me, but it still came across as rude and unprofessional. If management brings this review up, the employee will know exactly who she is — and so will her coworkers. She may play it off, but her behavior was distinctive enough that it stood out to everyone.
I come here often, Walter (an employee) is friendly! Such a great atmosphere as well, food tastes and looks fresh.
