Commonwealth Brewing is secretly a french fry restaurant disguised as a brewery. Don’t get me wrong, the beer is phenomenal. They have many options, and the seasonal rotations are always hits. I miss their Mexican lager the moment it’s no longer available. But really, they seem to have perfected the french fry. The boardwalk fry has just the right of crispness on the outside, and it’s still fluffy on the inside. It’s tossed in old bay and served with a rich honey mustard. Could not recommend more.

Good brewery atmosphere and vibe. Lively patio. The cheapest beer is $10. 3% fee for using a credit card. Cash not accepted. A little more expensive than what I'm used to. Fries are good.

Thin crust pizza can be done well. However, this pizza’s crust was raw. When we asked to have it returned, the server laughed at us until we showed him the dough was still spreadable. He had the pizzas remade and returned with them shortly after. These are the remade pizzas that were once again raw. Good environment but don’t get food here.

Excellent beer, very friendly staff and the chicken Caesar wrap and fries is shockingly good brewery fare. I love that we’ve got a place like this nearby and don’t need to hoof it out west for a similar experience. The proximity to other downtown shops and restaurants is an added plus. New Sunday ritual of an afternoon pint, some new vinyl from Mobius, then coffee at De Clieu is just what the doctor ordered. If I had to complain about anything it would be that it is quite loud, particularly when busy. Maybe I’m just getting old but some sound deadening on that bare concrete ceiling would go a long way. Regardless, 5/5 place, love it at Commonwealth.

Zero stars would be more than enough for a place that slaps you with a 3% surcharge on credit cards but won’t take cash. They also seem to feel that if you buy a 16 oz can they only need to pour 14 oz into your glass, so it’s the same as their other “pints”.

Very popular brewery/bar/table service restaraunt. Delicious beers. Only issue was long waits for tap service but that's unavoidable, and speaks to the popularity.

Honestly, the beers here are great but some of the bartenders could use better attitudes. Also, a 6% service charge on credit cards is unheard of, ultimately I'm subtracting that from the bartenders tip. I'd suggest fixing that fee.

My wife and I recently moved to Fairfax. We really like the pizza here well done. And the combination of drinks is perfect. Wish they had unsweetened 'ice tea' but I get it that its a brewery. All good.

This is a smartly placed brewery, right on Main Street in the cute little town of Fairfax, VA. There's plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating, perfect for beating the heat. Their Pool Noodle lager also serves that purpose. Even though another beer is called Aureole, the bartender swore not all their brew names are laden with innuendo. They also have a Big Popi. There's an abundance of drafts. Pretzel was dry and not great. Solid sticker game.

Chicken from the chicken and waffles is the blandest chicken I’ve ever had and it’s hard to eat, I have to drench it in the syrup.

Parking is a bit rough, as anyone visiting Fairfax City knows, but once you're here everything is fantastic: Huuuge beer selection, cocktails, brunch on Sunday, numerous events, tons of room, outdoor seating. It's very good. No complaints.

Also, up to 8 glasses in a Flight? Wild, but when you have this many beers: Necessary.

Neighborhood gem! Pizzas are a 10/10, service is excellent and they have a ton of games onsite for groups and kids. Their morning coffee menu is a must try too!
