WOW this place has gone down hill! Not only is it dirty, but dead, my pho was cold, and no more complimentary shrimp chips or flan?!? Use to be my all time favorite place stop coming bc it was kinda far for me and was hoping it be worth to come and check out but yeah it’s NOT THE SAME! Y’all better off going elsewhere these days, prices have gone up, & the service, atmosphere, food has gone down hill…such a shame!

Based on the good reviews here, I wanted to give this place a try & was very excited. As someone who likes to get pho often, this place ended up being very disappointing. I had ordered beef pho and chicken fried rice. Both dishes tasted very mediocre. No flavor at all. The broth had more oil in it than actual broth. Just tastes too oily. They definitely skimp you on the meat. Not only was there not much meat but also the meat had more fat attached to it than actual meat. The chicken fried rice was so plain and had no taste to it at all. When I went in to pick up the food, I had kindly asked if I could add a side of summer rolls, the cashier looked at me and said it was too late… which makes no sense because they were still open. Nonetheless, I’m glad I didn’t get the summer roll as it would have probably been a disappointment. Unfortunately I will not be coming back nor recommend going here.

Came back here after a few years. Restaurant's floor was dirty and there were flies buzzing around the restaurant. Service was a bit awkward but the food was still alright.

The food was incredibly disappointing and honestly hard to eat. Not authentic or appetizing. You couldn’t pay me to order from this restaurant again.

Went on saturday around 5pm, and was extremely disappointed. Even though our group of 7 was initially the only ones in the restaurant, it took 1 hour for food to come out. There was only one person working it seemed, both in the back and in the front.

As a Vietnamese, the food itself was also definitely not Vietnamese (I got the Ha noi vermicelli noodles). The next day I had diarrhea and a stomach ache.

Not coming back, and don't recommend anyone come. There's lots of better restaurants in the area.

I've been here a few times in the past and it was fine, not sure if it changed owners.

My husband and I went last Sunday to try the 'East Wind Vietnamese Restaurant.'
Since we moved to VA, occasionally we drive by the same street as this restaurant when going to downtown Fairfax.
First the restaurant looks cute from the outside. But when you start to look closely around inside the place isn't pleasant.

The cashier register area is disorganized, with glass water jars open, on top of the a desk, combined with folding wooden trays that is used to bring the food.

A rolled up rug standing in the corner of the entrance area.

Our waiter was overwhelmed answering the phone, placing custom orders, managing to-go orders and taking care of seated customers.

Husband ordered Pho with Round Steak - I ordered Spicy Hue Soup (number 28) described as spicy beef broth with slices of beef shank, tendon and thick rice noodles.

We also ordered Thai Iced tea. Meanwhile I started taking photos inside the restaurant.

Our food arrived and husband started eating his Pho. He was happy.
Mine had a terrible smell of bad fish, so I called the waiter who explained that that's normal.

Then the chef came asking what was wrong? I asked why the soup smells so bad and what else is in there and why is it super salty?

He said they added shrimp paste to the soup. I never heard of such a thing: beef broth and shrimp paste, really?!
Another thing I didn't appreciate was the cook rolling his eyes when I could not find these extra ingredients in the menu! In my case it turned into stinky soup, in someone else's case it can turn into a serious allergic reaction.

I don't care about his secret ingredients or recipe, but when I eat out I expect full disclosure about what I am ingesting and paying for.

In the end, I didn't eat that soup but ordered some garden rolls and called a night. This was not the pleasant and enjoyable dinner we were planning on having.

In my opinion it's NOT a true Vietnamese restaurant, they don't know what they are doing.

Never going back again.

By the way on the website photos look nice but in real life the dishes are definitely NOT like that!

The menu photos are poorly done with faded images, not appealing at all.

Conclusion my husband said his Pho was okay but could have been better esp since he had experience eating around the world.

The waiter did his best and we were not charged for the garden rolls. That's about the only good I can say about our experience eating there.

PS: My husband went to the men's bathroom and it's not clean.

I do not recommend having Pho or any noodle soup with beef at this restaurant. My sister and I had the worst Pho ever. The soup was sour, and the meat was spoiled. There were bubbles in the soup, which is a clear sign of something being off. I informed the manager, who said they would check with the chef. Unfortunately, the second attempt was no better. As a Vietnamese person, I know what good Pho tastes like, and this was definitely not it. A very disappointing experience overall.
