Fairfax County Building Permits

Very bad customer service. the engineer who was reviewing my plan he actually returned my application/ permit even though it was approved and issued. This is ridiculous.

Super friendly staff

I called hundred of times. Never answer me, I have been on commonhelo.virginia.gov and there is no way to change status etc. I do not what else to do! It is so frustrating!

I've had a great experience visit the county in-person. Alison A, Lindsay P, Austyn R and Sayedul C were kind and responsive. Thanks for walking me through the building and permits process!

Bad service not organized no communication with customers

Don't waste your time here. Are people working there and only answer is must submitte online... what they are doing, then wasting taxes payer money! If you can help

Started a project mid October 2023 and currently been in the dark hole of the permit process. What does it take to get out of the review process these days. over 3 + months and counting does not seem right.

Spoke with a employee today, I believe his name was Kyle, and he was very polite and professional. This was concerning a building permit. The employee was patient and answered all my questions. Thanks!

I just watched a video of security and the police violating a man's Civil Rights. First, everyone working in that building needs to learn what and how HIPAA works. Including local law enforcement. Security Braden and Wagger need to be retrained in doing their job. I have never seen so many, know so little about what their job is.

Is there a special training employees go through to learn how to be especially rude to customers? If so, the woman who answered the phone today was head of the class. I so appreciate your tone and you hanging up on me as I was saying thank you. You are the type of employee who gives Fairfax County government permits and zoning the reputation they have. You were unprofessional and rude. Don't take your anger and frustration out on those you are paid to help.

Inspector each individual has his own opinion about Inspector, I been in construction business for 30 years , I never see a Inspector show up looking like a homeless person, no offend to homeless people, but this gus for a love of God you represent the county act like one ,and process for inspection was horrible, his just make up things, he doesn't want be working ,I have to pay the price ,for waiting my time

I have had a lot of issue with county but I find out that they are more than willing to work with you I had deal with building permit and I have no clue what I was doing but they walk me through with all the process.
