Had a very nice dinner. Room was pretty dark, so it was hard to read the menu. Waiter brought a candle to the table that helped. Food good, rolls outstanding, but the parmesan crusted chicken I ordered was a little on the tough side. The waiter was attentive and overall good experience.

Lovely post-holiday lunch at Hamrock's yesterday - what a charming and special place, plus the food and service is outstanding. Love this gem in Fairfax - allow extra time to enjoy sitting on the beautiful outside porch!

Food was exceptional. Truly outstanding. I eat out every day, worked in over 30 cities in 9 countries, so I don't say this as a guy who goes out on restaurant week twice a year. Had 3 things, all were awesome. Favorite was a meatballs app in a coq o vin sauce. Really amazing. I'd go back just for that. Got a braised beef entree, excellent as well. The hat trick for excellence was brought home by the bread and awesome cinnamon butter. All this and inside a 170 year old historic house. I almost didn't go as when I saw the name, I thought 'Sports Bar' and if course scoff at the idea of food in any of them being good (unless I am very drunk). Already looking forward to going back.

We were excited to try this restaurant given the great things we’ve heard about their gluten free options and food in general. Unfortunately, we never even made it to try the food as there are multiple handicapped parking spots but no way for a wheelchair user to get into the building. After searching through reviews and calling multiple times with no luck reaching anyone, I made a reservation online and mentioned our need for wheelchair accessibility. I got a notification that the reservation was accepted by the restaurant so assumed we were good to go. When we got there, we were told our options are a rather large staircase next to one of the handicapped spots or “just two steps” up to the side entrance. Even those two step aren’t doable for a power chair user. Hoping to be able to edit this review after trying to visit again eventually, if we can make it inside at that point.

Always enjoy going for lunch to Hammrock's.... Staff is always very friendly, food is great, what's not to love?..... highly recommend.... In the homemade ice cream is out of this world. Wish they would have daily specials to shake up the menu a bit. I've taken many friends there and we never have a complaint .

We truly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The menu features many GF choices — even for dishes that are not typically available as GF. Menu clearly designates these. The food as delicious and the service gracious. We will definitely return!!

Hamrock's has been on my list to visit for a few years, and I finally had a chance to stop by today. The food was great and so was the service.

They are also very accommodating for Gluten Free diners.

Didn’t know what to expect, but it wasn’t a chain so we gave it a try.
We read a few reviews and liked the idea of this guy starting his own restaurant. We pass this restaurant - house - while driving through Fairfax. It looked historic; it had a parking lot which made it convenient. The old house brought back great memories. The menu was not huge - just right, I love the quiet atmosphere. It was like somebody invited you into their house for dinner.
We had scallops and rock fish. Both meals were delicious. They knew it was my birthday and they gave us a piece of delicious chocolate cake with some champagne to top it off.
So happy to discover this gem in Fairfax which make it a very special day for my birthday.

Ate here twice on a recent family trip to Virginia! Once for Thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun to have so many genuinely good gluten free options as someone with celiac disease. Wish we lived closer!

We ordered the Family Meal from Hamrock's from Thanksgiving and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of food.

Their price was reasonable, compared to other places in the area. Additionally, pick up was the day before and came with detailed re-heating instructions. Other places had pick-ups a week before Thanksgiving.

We will be ordering again!

This place is a must-visit, iconic restaurant in the area located inside a historic mansion that is several hundred years old. The food offerings are exceptional and also reasonable, and Beautrice, who we've had on both visits provides the high quality service you would expect in such a setting.
