This was my first time visiting the Haraz Coffee location in Fairfax, and it was honestly disappointing. I usually go to the one in North Carolina and have never had an issue there, but this location completely missed the mark.
We ordered an iced mufawar coffee, and it tasted like chalk. We asked if they could remake it, and they offered an iced caramel macchiato instead but that one also tasted the same, just bad. We also ordered a green tea that somehow tasted off, almost like red tea, and when we mentioned it, they didn’t seem to care or offer to fix it.
The overall customer service was lacking. No one seemed to care about feedback or making sure we enjoyed our drinks. The only person who was polite was the hijabi girl wearing leopard , everyone else seemed uninterested and dismissive.
I’ve been to other Yemeni coffee shops that really care about their customers and deliver great service, but this one was the complete opposite. Definitely won’t be coming back here again.

Lovely place! Such a gem in Nova. The place is spacious and very elegant. Got the pumpkin spice latte and date cake. Delicious!! They also have knaffeh and arabi dessert. Best part is that its Yemeni :) !!! I will definitely be going back.

This was the second time I tried coffee at this establishment, and it was terrible.

More than the coffee house, I love the people who own and work here. They give a soul/ life and a story to this place.

Beautiful interior decor inside. I've had better kenafeh (tasted stale, cheese was gross, just underwhelming) and definitely better matchas (needed more sweetener/syrup). My daughter had a meat pastry that also tasted dry & stale. Her dragonfruit refresher was okay. Don't know if I would come back.

This was my first time here and wow, it did not disappoint!

This is such a great addition to Fairfax. There is no such thing as too many coffee places :P.

As soon as I entered, I had to just take in the place, it was so large, exquisite, beautifully decorated with amazing lighting.

We ordered the Harazi Mufawar. I made the mistake of customizing my drink with almond milk and less sugar. I say mistake for a couple reasons: 1) the flavors were so amazing and strong and 2) it would have been amazing with oat milk and regular sugar. However, I do like the option of being able to customize the drinks. I wish I recorded or took pictures as we ordered from the kiosk. There were so may other beverage options, but we wanted to stick with the more authentic beverages versus the standard espresso beverages.

Can we just take a minute to talk about the cup, sleeve and stopper?! They were so beautiful with the simple black and gold. We were contemplating on taking them home as a souvenir. Not to mention, they kept the drinks SO HOT for more than 15 minute (yes I kinda timed it)!!!

There isn't much to say about customer service as it was basically non-existent and there wasn't much interaction. This is the reason we used the kiosk to order. They didn't greet us or ask to take our order. Even picking up our order was like talking to a zombie.

We came on a weekday morning, so luckily it wasn't packed or loud. I'm sure it gets like that during the evenings and weekend.

The food in the display looked a bit stale/old, so I didn't order the bee hive but we ordered the Kunafa, which actually was disappointing and stale. I wouldn't order again.

The coffee shop is located at a small strip mall. There are two entrances, one will direct you to the front parking lot, the other to the back (then you have to drive around to the front). There is plenty of parking available in the front and back, shared by other businesses.

Would I return? Yea for sure!

Omran was nice and friendly. He changed the pastries without any questions because I had an allergy to them. He offered me to choose another flavor to eat.

When they say they serve a pistachio latte, they mean it! So many places will put in overly sweet pistachio syrup that tastes more like ice cream than the food itself, but not at Haraz. Their pistacho iced latte tastes like lightly sweetened pistachios and beautifully complements their espresso blend. The pumpkin coffee cake was also a highlight; it was light and fluffy yet so flavorful with fall spices.

One small note—this is a popular spot and a big one so service can be a little slow. When I stopped by at 10:45 on a Friday I had to wait about 15 minutes for my coffee and my cake. Maybe this is just time dependent, but this seems to be like more of a place to relax than to swing by on the way to work.

I’m not gonna lie, I had been excitedly waiting to try this location for the coffeehouse for the longest time, but to my disappointment, the experience was far from what I expected. I don’t usually go out of my way to write a negative review, but I truly believe this needs to be addressed, because people deserve to know what’s really going on here and since it’s been bothering me for a couple of days now. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that something was off. The staff looked completely drained and unmotivated, and it showed in the way they interacted with customers. There was no genuine warmth or hospitality, just frustration and exhaustion. Honestly, I don’t even blame them, because it seems like the work environment is incredibly toxic. Also when we came in one woman behind the register, who I’m assuming was a manager (since she wasn’t wearing a uniform), had an unwelcoming attitude from the start. She was dismissive and rude toward me and my friends, only changing her tone once she overheard us mention another coffeehouse. It was honestly embarrassing and unprofessional.
The male staff weren’t any better, they answered simple questions with sighs, eye rolls, and visible annoyance, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. I spent a decent amount of money here, only to walk away feeling disrespected and disappointed.

What makes this even sadder is that I’ve visited Haraz locations in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York, and the staff there were always kind, professional, and passionate about what they do. The contrast here is shocking. After talking to others, I learned that nearly all of the original staff since the grand opening have either been fired or quit because of the horrible management and mistreatment they faced.
At this point, I genuinely hope the management gets replaced, or the place shuts down because no customer deserves to be treated this way, and no employee deserves to work in such an environment.

A pretty nice spot to do some work and be productive. Got to knock out some wedding planning to-dos :)

Solid strawberry matcha latte! I tried just the matcha layer by itself, super bitter, not usually my favorite kind of matcha, but balanced great with the strawberry syrup when mixed thoroughly. Would get again, but definitely want to try their coffee next time! Obsessed over the chocolate mosaic cake, not too sweet approved!

Good coffee and tea (though most of the stuff is way too sickeningly sweet, like their macchiato) and decent food, but definitely overpriced. Service is mid because it really depends on who you get. Tables and seats need to be wiped down more periodically cause it gets nasty. Also I dont know if this is how other people make their tea, but I'm not used to swallowing a bunch of loose leaves when taking the last few sips of my red tea.

HARAZ is by far the best Yemeni coffee shop I’ve visited so far! The place is elegant, spacious, spotless, and beautifully organized. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in their service. The coffee presentation is excellent, and the quality of the ingredients truly stands out. Yemen is known for its world-class coffee, and HARAZ absolutely lives up to that reputation. Highly recommended!

If I am paying for top quality food & service then it should reflect that at all times - as shown in the screenshot, to go order for 2 “bee bites” which btw is just the best that they make, no doubt in that! And tip added despite it being a “pick up”. A staff member came by the order take our register, confirms my order and pushes out the boxes and honey containers towards me so asked for a bag, ended up grabbing one myself, but another staff member was professional and more in tune with what that mesmerizing place is all about.
Other than that, hands down one of the best spots for coffee and pastries stuff.
