I ordered for pickup so I was only able to experience in atmosphere for a short period. The dan dan noodles is one of the best that I have had in the US. The only other one that I had that was better was when I lived in China. I wish they had a location back in Boston.

Such a fun night at High Side! 💕 Great drinks, yummy dumplings, and totally the kind of place you end up laughing too loud with your girls. 🍻✨ The vibe’s casual but cool, and the energy’s just right for catching up, snacking, and sipping something new. Definitely a repeat spot!

The young man with mustache and light beard forgot to bring out my order of noodles After waiting 30 minutes for take out noodles, the young man seemed annoyed when I asked for an update on the order. He went into the kitchen and the noodles were magically ready. Rather than say he made a mistake, he decided to he gaslit me and said 30 minutes was normal preparation time for noodles. I was obviously unhappy with this explanation which was followed up by an accusation of staring at him and an order to leave the store and wait outside for our Uber. Noodles were okay, but not worth shabby treatment and a 30 minute wait.

This place is a little slice of heaven in Fairfax, VA, not too far from DC. It's a combination of a high-quality Asian street food bistro with a well-curated craft beer taproom and bottle shop. The fresh ingredients that clearly went into the dishes is respectable. Sunny-side instead of scrambled eggs with the fried rice is novel and scrumptious. The presentation of the pot stickers as a giant fried pancake you must turn over or crack apart like a savory Crème brûlée to access the dumpling goodness underneath was fun, if a bit greasy. The beer selection is outrageously good. Highly recommend. And get some beer to go! Clothing and glassware merch in supply, but no stickers.

Um, this place is FANTASTIC! Pretty unassuming from the outside but the food is delicious, the staff is great, and the prices are reasonable. Especially loved the bao buns, popcorn chicken, mala pickled cucumbers, and coconut flan. A gem in old town Fairfax!
