I had a really frustrating experience at City Kabob. We waited an hour for our food, hookah, and tea, but after all that time, only the hookah arrived. To make it worse, they then told us we only had 30 minutes left to enjoy everything before closing. It was completely unacceptable – if they couldn’t serve the food and tea, they should have let us know from the start rather than wasting our time. The service was poor, and it seemed like they didn’t value our experience at all. Definitely won’t be coming back.

We visited to dine and smoke, but the experience was disappointing. After placing our order, we were informed that the restaurant would be closing in 30 minutes. This lack of communication is unacceptable and shows poor customer service. The staff was rude, and it felt like they were rushing us out rather than ensuring we had a pleasant experience. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for good service.

I paid $53 for two people. I'm usually not that critical but the stomach ache my wife and I had was horrendous. The local area has Afghan food all over, and this was by far the worst. The Chapli kabob wasn't even normal to say the least... " Afghan Style?" it looked like restaurant depot meat and three slabs of Mcd's Quarter Pounder patties! Gross! Rice was a oily mess, and the chicken kabob meat had a nasty marinated film on it. My blood pressure was off the roof when I walked out from the insane salt content they used to try to mask the food. They're trying too hard to fit the needs of the hookah smokers, and night life. Choose one, or the other, please. I wasn't expecting cherry & mango flavored smoke in my kabobs while I ate. The kitchen side looked dingy, but honestly the smokers spot looked well maintained & clean. They just know they can get away with this, because many young crowds come in half drunk/buzzed, and their tastebuds are numbed out not caring about the dishes flavor. They should have a sign that says, "27yo and below only." Those are the only people they're fooling. I wanted to throw up when we left. I know how food tastes when it sits too long also. What a waste of time, and money! We had to try it though, just to see if it was a hidden gem, but what we realized is that it's realistically a hole in the wall. Don't waste your hard earned money unless you want to take advantage of a spot to smoke a hookah and relax with friends. I would give the food a negative 1 star if I could or possibly defecate on it to give it more flavor!
Everything was great

Menu didn’t match what we ordered. The shawarma sandwich didn’t taste like anything and was more like a plain beef burrito. No naan was served with the meal- it was like regular bread. The Greek salad I ordered wasn’t even an actual menu item and then barely had lettuce, too much cilantro. We called to let them know things weren’t as expected or advertised and nothing was offer ed as a solution other than a “sorry”. This didn’t seem like any other afghan food I’ve ever had. Definitely disappointed and a waste of money. Will not be returning unfortunately.
