I found this place not far from my hotel. It's in a strip-mall. It looks like more of a takeout place. But, there are plenty of tables inside. There is an extensive menu. There are authentic dishes. They will probably make anything you want. I wanted chicken, bok choy, and rice. The woman behind the counter was very clever, funny, and nice. She recommended a simple salt, pepper, and garlic sauce. They cooked it very quickly. There was a lot of food. It was very tasty. I saw many things on the menu that I want to try. The woman recommended many other things to try. Good place!Vegetarian options: Plenty of options.

The dry fried green beans was our favorite, had lots of flavor with garlic and some chilis. Sichuan fish soup was good as well, not too spicy and a variety of veggies. Sweet and sour chicken was mostly breading. Salt and pepper shrimp only tasted like salt with no other seasoning. Beef chow fun was the most disappointing as it was very bland, even some soy sauce would have improved it. Customer service was good and everything was server quick.

Good soup a little different Chinese soups. Very basic restaurant. Not a lot to say except to try it out if you like noodles both soup and non soup! You might run into Peter Chang there.

We ordered the fried chicken leg. It was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, but overall, it was just okay. It wasn't particularly flavorful or well-seasoned. And, we tried the cumin fish. This dish was much better. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the cumin flavor was delicious. However, the fish itself was completely unsalted. I had to add a lot of soy sauce to make it edible.

I was excited to find out they opened one in fairfax no longer need to go to Arlington. Food was good typical chinese take out. More of cafe style than dine in. Otherwise menu is different from their original location. Will come back again.

Our first time and we ordered quite a few dishes. In general, the dishes tasted great but the service definitely needed improvement. It’s a bit overpriced too.

PIG FEET ? this place isn’t the cutest and the service can be okay but the food is bomb. I do normally order the salt and paper pig feet and it’s full of flavor. Don’t knock it till you try it.

Lu Wei is conveniently next to 99 Ranch and I've been wanting to try their XLB because people say it's good. Sadly, they were out of XLB this past Saturday afternoon (also it's 9.00 for 4 XLBs???) so we tried a few other dishes instead. Like what everyone else said, this is more of a carry-out style restaurant, but if you are eating in, they do give you "real" bowls, plates and utensils to eat with. It's nice that you can order using their kiosk and there's pictures attached to every menu item.STIR-FRIED BOK CHOY W/ TOFU SKIN ROLL - 15The bok choy has a lot of "wok hay" that made it taste a lot better than homemade bok choy. It's pretty simple with a bit of oil and stir-fried in garlic. However, the tofu skin rolls were quite inedible because of how salty they were. My parents and I took a bite out of one and we gave up after that.SICHUAN BOILED FISH - 19This came in a large bowl filled with a lot of chili oil. There's plenty of flounder in here with other spices and toppings like beansprouts. It's spicy, but not "holy-crap-my-nose-is-runny" kind of spicy. I didn't think it had a strong mala flavor. It was just really salty, and this is when my dad went to go buy another bowl of rice because it was too much. Overall, bland in terms of spice but so, so salty.FRIED MEAT SKEWER (3PCS) BEEF - 10This was pretty good because the beef was juicy and fatty and had a good amount of spice and seasoning. My mom thought it kind of tasted like pork, though. It's just pretty expensive to buy three lil skinny skewers for 10.00.If you want additional white rice, it's +1 for each bowl. We definitely needed at least a few bowls because the food here was pretty salty. My dad is very much a "no food waste" kind of man, but the tofu skin rolls and fish today were a rare exception.

Overpriced. The stock photos on their APP are completely misleading and not real. The real food is mediocre. We will not return.

I really wish I could give a 1/2 star to make it 3.5 stars. As stated in other reviews this is more of a to go place. There is a kiosk you order from (great is nobody is behind you. We had nobody behind us, but I feel it would have been pressure to hurry up if there were others waiting).I took my son for dinner for soup dumplings, and we had a few ideas of what to order, but human contact and maybe some guidance of what we should try could have been nice. (Once again the kiosk for ordering, efficient, but not welcoming and relationship building. I think the relationship building is very important for a small neighborhood restaurant).Enough about the kiosk.Ordered:Pork buns. - greatSoup dumplings- delicious Potstickers- greatString rolls- lovelyWaters- 2 (this is tricky, I don't mind purchasing water, but I only drink like 1/4 cup w dinner and my son drinks 1/2 cup or so. I really wanted 1 water bottle w 2 cups...)I think the owner was out chatting w us and she was great. Talking to us and recommending different items off the menu, (this was great and would have been more appreciated when we were ordering the first time). In the end I would go back, but definitely not in our weekly rotation of restaurants.

I wouldn't have stopped by and ordered food there if "Peter Zhang" were not on the name plaque.

I had the beef noodle soup. Excellent broth. I recommend finding the egg side dish and adding it. This place is legit. Can’t wait to try the rest of the dishes. Looking for to the mclean location In sept. I hope Peter goes with an authentic menu!!
