Food was good. Service was good except there was only one waitress working in the entire restaurant

This is a pretty decent chinese restaurant in a small mall area on fairfax. We ate here a couple of times, and the servers are very friendly- but we ordered takeout the most though and the food never disappoints. They are also pretty nice about adjusting menu items like asking for "tomato with egg" when it's not on the menu and also making some small changes to dishes. Definitely a great place if you want some traditional Chinese dishes in addition to the usual takeout chinese american foods. I would say their Uber eats prices are the same as dine in prices, so you won't be saving much pick up yourself, though.

Their salty duck is delicious. If you order one dish in this restaurant, this is the one to go. The fan fried dumplings are great as well.

We have been there about a dozen times and the food is pretty decent. Nothing spectacular but nothing too terrible. There has been at least 2 occasions where I ordered take out hours ahead of my pickup time and when I arrive, they haven't even started my order. Whenever this happens, they make me wait for at least 30 mins. Please be aware before you order take out.

I ordered Shrimp with Asparagus for carry out. When I opened the container, I was shocked that there were only a few popcorn shrimps at best decorating a vegetable dish. I immediately called the restaurant to complaint and the owner seemed indifferent and wasn't apologetic on the false claim of the dish. Would not recommend this place to others.

Terrible experiences! Note that they don't take Amex or any foreign credit cards. This was my first visit to a Chinese restaurant where you have to request bowls; otherwise, you end up eating soup from a plate. Moreover, the food doesn't come close to authentic Nanjing cuisine!!!

Our second time here and has now become one of our favorite places to eat out at! Some must haves for us are the string beans and the mini pork buns. Then we enjoy trying two new entrees. The service here is insanely fast. The food comes out super quick which is really nice.

I have passed Nanjing Bistro many times. For some reason I never went in and assumed it served Americanized Chinese food. How wrong I was! Nanjing Bistro is as authentic as it a great restaurant. I have now been back twice in two weeks. The salty duck and the tripe appetizers are very tasty. Last week I had the fish for two. Deep fried with a delicious coating and drenched in a sweet sauce that is out of this world. Also, very friendly service. I highly recommend Nanjing Bistro! Check out my photos! This is seriously delicious food!!

Had lunch with a party of 11 and ate 10 dishes. We are Chinese and were impressed with the quality of the chef! Every dish was excellent, especially pan fried dumplings, nanjing fried fish, Wuxi spareribs, shrimp and asparagus.

Stop by after my grocery shopping. It was a cold night so we ordered soupy dishes. I have not been here for a while, and I have forgotten how nice this place was. The dishes were not pretentious, nice portion and delicious. Our waitress was very good and keeps the drinks refreshed.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. The menu is extensive and the food is very authentic. I almost went there every week recently. The food tastes great and prices are reasonable. A few dishes I ordered many times: cumin lamb or beef , braised pork belly, sweet and sour fish (squirrel fish), pork buns, Nanjing wonton soup, and string beans . Highly recommended.

Our NYC-transplanted family really enjoyed the food. It was just as good as our favorite local take-out place from back in the city- a criteria we've struggle to find in NoVa. This will be our new go-to spot for Chinese food!
