I reserved a ticket for the comedy night and arrived well prior to the start time. There was a line out front and finally after about 20 minutes, someone came out and advised they were full and could not seat anyone. Not sure what the purpose of a reserved ticket was for, why they allowed so many to just stand outside for nothing but clearly, it is amateur night on the management side at Ornery as well. Ornery definitely ticked off a lot of potential new customers by managing this so poorly. There are much better choices out their and Ornery lives up to it's name.

We stopped in late night and they were quite busy in the bar area. We ordered beer and found out the one I wanted was just sold out. So, I ordered a different one. We ordered dinner and then decided we wanted the smoked trout. Unfortunately, they said they did not get in any on the truck earlier that day. So, we got a pretzel with beer cheese and mustard. Food was good that we did get. I got shrimp and grits.

Am always on the lookout for kid friendly menus, since a lot of times kids will eat very little of a meal you pay $10+ for, so it's great that their kids menu items are free on Monday and Tuesday. I got the burger, which was decent, and kids got spaghetti and pizza both of which they liked a lot. Will definitely go back.

Our server Catherine was great. Very pleasant and helpful. Food: fish and chips were “off” and had to send back to kitchen. Chips were not fresh. Jagerschitzel pork was tender and would have been better if it hadn’t been fried in dirty oil. Rot kraut was good. Order empanadas and the were delicious and fresh. Cole slaw was good and fresh.

This place doesn't get enough credit. They consistently make the most solid beer in the area, and their pizza is legit. Every time I go to Ornery I have a very pleasant food and drink experience.
This is a fantastic and friendly place for an excellent beer, great food, or just to hang out. Max, Doug, and the staff are top notch. Very much worth a visit if you are in Fairfax.

I came in for a quick bite around 6pm on a weekday. The bar was not too busy but it took the bartender at least 15 minutes to notice me and even give me a menu. I placed an order for a fish sandwich nd waited for almost 30 minutes with no water or anything. After 30 minutes, I was brought a pulled pork sandwich. It took me a while to once again get the bartenders attention to let him know that I got the wrong order. He tried to convince me that I ordered the pulled pork, made a face and never even apologized for bringing the wrong order. It took another 25 minutes to get the right sandwich, which was unfortunately really dry and subpar. again, no one ever checked in to make sure everything was ok, not even once. Very disappointing arrive and mediocre food :(

The beer was good and we enjoyed the pretzel appetizer. My burger was soggy and the fries were old and cold. By the time my server came back to check on us, I didn't feel like asking for replacement fries. The service was mediocre at best. We went there to enjoy the Rock the Block band while sitting outside.

Went here on a Sunday afternoon with two other people. Our server Patrick was amazing! He really took his time explaining everything to us, answering all of our questions, and even asking his manager when we inquired about something he wasn’t 100% certain on. The food was great (HIGHLY recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich), the service was on point, and the seltzer was just the right amount of sweet/flavorful, without being overwhelming. Had a great time, thanks Patrick!
