The store has gone down the hill. They only have self checkout unless there is a line. Then they opened a register. If you have more than 10 items and unfamiliar with how to ring things up it slows down the line. This is not excellent customer service. They only have 1 at self check out to help with 5 self check out registers. Not a smart move on Safeway's part .This is why I rarely shop here. Do better.

Very bad service to 0 service,
Very incompetent supervisor, I had a full csr of groceries & the chip on my credit card did not work, he refused to manually enter the number in & i went to get my other card and came right back and he already had put everything awy & would refuse to help me out.

Today is the worst shopping I have ever experienced in this store. A middle-aged woman claimed to be the manager name is honan,She wasted half an hour of my time,She counted it over and over again, and in the end she overcharged me. I have to go back to the store。also I want 20 boxes of products. I'll pick them up in a few days. She didn't even think about it and answered me no.What kind of manager doesn't want to make money for the store?

Today I went to our neighborhood Safeway on Braddock Road in Fairfax, VA. I needed a garlic bread (silver paper wrapped) for dinner. The bakery was completely out. A wonderful lady named Vivian, in the bakery, told us to return to the bakery in 5 minutes. I finished shopping with my grandsons and returned to the bakery. Vivian had personally prepared the garlic bread for us. I give this Safeway a 5 stars rating and a whole hearted recommendation, because I receive excellent service from the staff there.

Either the manager on duty just told me you keep mayo on chicken sandwiches in the warmer or wanted me to open the whole package to check. I was frankly disgusted Either way. I just won't be in Safeway unless there's no other option. On the bright side I'm not hungry anymore lol

I've been coming to this grocery store for forever in a day, and while it's not the most modern location, they are located close to where I live, and they usually have the grocery items that I need. I was off from work today, so I thought that I would finish some errands. The first order of business was to get lunch for me and my girlfriend. This grocery store chain sells ready-made footlong sub sandwiches for just $6.00. I have tried the tuna, turkey, and Italian subs, and they taste just fine! They also had 2- 46 ounce containers of Tropicana Premium orange juice for $3.00 each. Normally these sell for more than $5.00. On the other hand, not all of their produce or meat items are value priced. I purchased the sandwiches, orange juice, a container of milk, and some cereal. The check-out procedure was fast and easy, as usual.
