had a very disappointing experience at Simply Social Coffee today. I came in with my service dog, and the first thing the cashier told me was that dogs weren’t allowed inside and that I needed to go outside and order online. This was not only disrespectful but also potentially illegal in Virginia, as service dogs are legally allowed in public establishments.

I had to step outside, hand my dog to my husband, and then return to place my order. When ordering my latte, I asked for light ice, and instead of just noting my request, the cashier took five extra minutes to explain that my cup wouldn’t be filled to the top. While I understand portioning, the way she said it came off as unnecessarily rude and condescending.

As I waited for my order, I noticed a board covered in Polaroid pictures of dogs, making the place seem dog-friendly—which made the refusal to allow my working dog inside even more contradictory and misleading. If this café truly cares about dogs, they should at least allow service animals inside for a brief moment while someone orders, or at the very least, offer to take an order and bring the drink outside.

To top it off, my latte with “light ice” was indeed not filled to the top, which was just the final frustration in an already bad experience. The lack of respect, poor customer service, and confusing policies make it unlikely that I’ll return.

I think that the overall vibes were here were pretty pretty awesome. The staff was really nice. The vibes were there. It was not that bad. However, the only thing that I would like for this place to have improved on is having more seating, especially for it to be as many people as they are coming.

I also feel like the drinks are a little bit more on the expensive side, which was a little bit unsettling for how small it was. I paid around $7.95 which I guess is normal for the price that you find in the DMV area however going back in I will probably pick something cheaper and this is definitely not a place where you can probably just sit down and do homework as I saw a few people because they were taking up a lot of space and that was not something that I really liked because I had to wait a long time for me to get a seat

However, once again, all in all, this is the place that I’ll probably go back

Customer service is great, staff very friendly. However, the espresso was extremely underextracted and sharply acidic. A shame, considering their nice machine.

Disappointed. Ordered a chicken melt. Got the melt, the bread was mushy and unpleasant looking. It was also missing some ingredients as you can see from the stock photo in comparison to what I actually got. The chicken melt on the site also did NOT mention fruit. When I opened the box, I see fruit inside that I did NOT ask for and additionally, that I’M allergic to. Because of that, I couldn’t even eat the sandwich if I wanted to because of contact. What a waste of money! I guess to-go orders just get thrown together without a care. Extremely dissatisfied. I live a couple cities over and don’t come out here often. By the time I realized the error, I was already gone.

Iced Americano was made well and the breakfast sandwich I had was good, but nothing special. A spot for a quick grab and go, not somewhere you would want to work remote or study (no outlets). If you’re meeting up with friends, there’s plenty of room to sit inside and even more outside. Lots of outdoor seating.

Ordered the White Mocha Latte and Creme Brûlée Latte. Both very good, I love how they use Hollander white chocolate sauce, the flavor is PERFECT. Both coffees were very smooth and good flavor throughout. I couldn’t really tell the difference between the creme brûlée from the white mocha but still enjoyed my coffee :) good service

My go to place for flat whites and a good breakfast bagel (: The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is cute and relaxed.

Very cute coffee shop. Has verity of great breakfast options and specialty coffee. I loved my oatmilk coffee. Staff are very friendly and warm. Very nice indoor seating as well as an outdoor seating that is shaded with tree. Very great spot for socializing as the name suggests. Lastly, support your local business ❤️

Ordered 2 different drinks to try, hot and iced. My biggest issue was the size to price ratio! There is only one size for hot and iced drinks. One small latte cost $6.28. That’s a higher price than a large Starbucks speciality latte! The flavors I chose were way too sweet so I would advise going without or ask for less.

Small indoor area with crowded tables, no where to charge lap top and being so small it’s loud. Not a good place to come and read or work.

Wouldn’t come back. De Clieu, Fairfax Bakery or many other local coffee shops are better priced and more inviting.
