Sogongdong Tofu & BBQ 소공동 두부마을

I am bummed I no longer live in Fairfax as this is easily one of my fave places for Korean food! Tucked away in HMart, it's small 7 unassuming, dishes are flavorful, portions generous and soo delicious. (kinda weird to get to as you literally have to go around the cash register to go there unless you're already shopping at HMart - if anyone has a better way to access, do let me know).
My favorites are their kimchi jigae and their short ribs - so good omg, but their pancakes are delicious and everything else looks amazing too!

First time trying this place and it was good! The prices might seem a bit high but the amount of food makes up for it. I got the noodle soup with pork and kimchi and it hit the spot for a winter day. My husband got the stir fried squid which was cooked well and the stir fried noodles in it were tasty. The concubines kimchi banchan was super crisp and refreshing. Definitely going to keep going back when we go to Hmart.

I went to this restaurant to order food for someone sick and craving its dishes. Although I had never dined there and was skeptical about the quality, it turned out that the food was great! I ordered soft tofu soup with noodles, grilled croaker, and spicy pork, and although I felt the overall price was a bit high compared to others with similar options, the food was delicious, and the quality was excellent, which made up for it. They also gave me a lot of side dishes. It looks like they have several vegetarian dishes as well. If one wants to dine at the food court, there are tables in front of the restaurant that are shared with other restaurants in the food court. I can't wait to try different dishes soon!

Vegetarian options: Soft tofu soup, soft tofu noodles, soft tofu ramen, bibimbap bowl/ hot stone bowl, Japchae, etc.

Parking: It’s located inside a Korean supermarket called Hmart, with its own parking lot.

I was craving soondoobu after a long day of work. And let me tell you this place exceeded my expectations. They had generous portions, the side dishes were fresh and the food hit the spot! My partner and I ordered the soondoobu, fried squid, and bibimbap. We will definitely be back!!

I recommend this restaurant, the food they sell there is very delicious. I ordered a bibimbap. I loved it. I'm going to return to eat there, the best Korean restaurant I've ever been to.
