We got order out - Katsu, several sushi rolls and ramen. I’ve never been more disappointed. All the food must have come from frozen because it had weak natural flavors and odd textures which were supplemented by sauces to offset.

Salad was good and avocado salmon was fine

Katsu- The quality was poor, I’m pretty sure the katsu was frozen and reheated it was also covered in a copious amount of white sweet sauce. It meant that the entire meal was incredibly sweet when usually eel sauce is enough. It’s fried pork, it’s hard to mess up

Sushi - the quality of the fish was poor. The tuna was certainly frozen to the point that it impacted the texture and flavor of the tuna. It was flavorless and had an odd rough texture. One roll was covered in crab (which was sweet imitation crab instead)

Ramen - they need to work on how they package this, usually you would separate noodles and soup, but that wouldn’t have saved the dish. The pork was very thin, presumably from frozen and leeched of flavor. The texture was also poor. The broth was also poor quality and was flavored more from the veggies and imitation crab that sat within instead of miso or pork (not sure what base they used)

The rolls were good but small and the crazy Yama and spider rolls was so moist and off putting. The soft shell crab in both rolls just didn’t taste as fresh or have a crunch to it. So other rolls are good just nothing with soft shelled crab tasted right.

Loved this place. The atmosphere is great and the service as well! The prices are very reasonable. The only feedback we have is that the ginger salad dressing was too sweet. We will definitely be back here.

This is a hidden gem in Fairfax. It’s close enough to Annandale and Falls Church. What we like about it is the ability to get good Japanese food without long wait. The food was delicious and the price was reasonable. Highly recommend.

Good variety of options for a reasonable price. They also have a decent selection of Japanese alcoholic drinks.

YamaChen’s Sushi House totally hit the sushi craving! 💕 The rolls were fresh, colorful, and beautifully made — especially the specialty ones. The service was sweet and fast, and the prices were super reasonable for the quality. It’s not super fancy, but it’s cozy, reliable, and always leaves you happy and full. 🍣✨

Loved the service! Though the sushi felt a little chewy however they had great edamame along with their complementary korean yogurt at the end was a nice cherry on top.

Wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious sushi! I only ordered the simplest rolls since I brought my young children. It was a great first sushi experience for them though their favorite were the tasty fried Gyoza. Their fountain drink prices were the most reasonable I've seen in a long time!

Absolutely loved the food here. We chose a few different rolls and some other dishes to share, and everything was delicious. Very friendly service, no remarks whatsoever. Very reasonable pricing.

Dog shit.

Miso soup was warm tepid water.

Shumai were dough balls with no filling or flavor.

Maki had nice blue crab crunch on the end but were indistinguishable from 700AD english man’s slop.
