Really nice time - a great night out for a family. Anna, the server, was extremely nice and welcoming. And the yakult after dinner was an awesome touch!

Absolutely loved the food here. We chose a few different rolls and some other dishes to share, and everything was delicious. Very friendly service, no remarks whatsoever. Very reasonable pricing.

Dog shit.
Miso soup was warm tepid water.
Shumai were dough balls with no filling or flavor.
Maki had nice blue crab crunch on the end but were indistinguishable from 700AD english man’s slop.

Yamachen has become a reliable favorite for our family when we're craving good, no-fuss sushi in a relaxed setting. The atmosphere is consistently chill, making it a welcome escape from the hustle and bustle. We always appreciate the great service – the staff is attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
They offer a solid selection of classic rolls and nigiri that always hit the spot. A big plus for us is that our toddler enjoys their simple rice and grilled chicken, and the edamame is always a hit!
What truly sets Yamachen apart for our family is its quiet and relaxing ambiance. It's a welcome change of pace, allowing us to enjoy our meal and actually have a conversation without raising our voices. If you're looking for a dependable spot for casual sushi with a calm vibe and friendly service, Yamachen is a great choice. It's become our go-to for a relaxed family meal.

unfortunately this is just not a real sushi restaurant. I don't think it was terrible, but its not sushi. It is perhaps sushi for people who have never actually eaten sushi before. I would like to rate it a 1, but the restaurant is fine, its just not a sushi restaurant.

One of the worst sushi restaurants I've ever been too. Miso soup and Shumai was so salty. The Rolls were flavorless and did not even look like the pictures on the menu. Huge disappointment!!

Came across this place while shopping in the plaza they’re located in. Upon entering it was very quiet. Maybe one or two other tables were occupied. The staff immediately tended to us. They were super friendly and attentive. We ordered a few things from their lunch menu. They provided us with a complimentary order of edamame after seating us along with spring rolls and a fruit yogurt throughout our dining experience. Our food came out at a decent time and it was very fresh and tasty.

Literally this the best sushi GEM. If you’re in Ashburn/Sterling I HIGHLY recommend. The food is amazing and it’s at a much more reasonable cost compared to all of the other Japanese options around here.

Saturday night hours are precious, so I am writing this to help suburban couples out on a lark save time and avoid this place: We landed here because our favorite sushi place was busy, and we had to catch a movie. The miso soup is watered down and flavorless. The salad dressing was inedible as the taste overwhelmed. Fried shrimp was okay and gyoza was fine, though I’m quite sure I heard the microwave laughing in the background. The hot/cold temperatures of the rolls supported my concern. The gyoza sauce was over-salted. The sushi was poor quality, and again, had overwhelming taste to the sauces. Really, this is mall food at a higher price with a more tasteless array of sauces. Note: I normally do not review restaurants online, but I found this experience so bad that the need to share was overwhelming.
