HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the second time I’ve dined here, the first time, trying the squid and pork bomb dish that was mediocre at its best (there not even being pork in the dish which highly disappointed me the first time). I just had dinner for the second time to try their bestsellers which are their 떡뽂이 platters. The rose teokbbokki was good, however when asking if I could place an order for extra ramen noodles on the side, the cashier working rudely said no and that they only cook the ramen noodles with the dish. I didn’t understand as they were just plain ramen noodles that can be tossed in a pot of boiling water and served as a side which most Korean restaurants tend to do. For some odd reason, this place doesn’t seem to offer that option or she just didn’t want to do it. She was pretty adamant on the fact that I couldn’t place a side order for plain ramen noodles and so I asked to speak with the manager to gain some clarity if this were true and again, she so rudely responded with “no”. Before I placed my order, I asked her “what comes with the dish” and she replied “look at the picture”, which took me aback for sure. She also seems way too occupied with her phone rather than doing her job and greeting customers. My advice, I feel like whoever is working the front of the house is crucial in having a successful business. I implore you guys to acquire or retrain the cashier that you guys have.

This is one of the best rice cakes and ramen in Virginia. Their sauce is absolutely crazy. And they give you plenty of food too! Ddukbokki

came with my few friends to eat at the hmart food court and we have no regrets!! we were to spend a day in DC but decided to eat local first.we ordered the Mala Tteokbokki with suspicions because mala is a very strong sichuan spice flavor. it was ~$22.00 total for the medium size. the mala tteokbokki came with 2 fried noodle dumplings, shredded green onions, grilled brisket, one egg, glass noodles, long rice cakes (that you can cut up with given scissors), fish cake, carrot, onion, and cabbage. this blew our mind since it was really not spicy at all!! there was definitely the infamous mala aftertaste but it made my mouth water for more HAHA. towards the end of the meal, the spice DID build up but not too much. it also depends on your spice tolerance and the three of us eat spicy food well.everything was cooked pretty well but the glass noodles were so-so. i cook these at home too when i'm craving homemade tteokbokki or ramen or home made hot pot, so i make them softer and chewier. the glass noodles were a bit harder to chew, but not too bad!! still very much enjoyed the meal :)) this is definitely my favorite now. i've tried the original, the black bean version, the rose, but mala beats them all. i recommend also ordering a side of fried assortments to dip and enjoy more or order [cheesy korean corn dog right across from this stand :)) service was very helpful and quick. the man that took our order was kind and patient and happens to also help run the korean corn dog spot too !

T1 that's all i remember, everything that follows was an instinctual reaction to a bowl full of what i believe is the perfect physical representation of "disembowelment" in food form. But my monkey brain and my monkey tummy were at odds, so when my tummy gazed long into the abyss and it gazed back, we locked eyes and fell in love. 100% of everything in that bowl following the first itty bitty slurp was to die for, the broth was delicious, beef was flavorful and tender, even those suspiciously shaped rice cakes were fire. If you enjoy Korean food, this place is it.

Rude customer service, get refused at when asked to customize protein due to religious reasons. My boyfriend was Hinduism and can’t not have beef ask for chicken with the new Mala topokki, get “No” as an answer, no explanation PERIOD!. C’mon you can do

best topokki in virginia! I had mala topokki and it had the best balance of flavor! Would recommend for people who like spicy and chewy food

Not coming back. The fries were terrible. I assumed it was expensive because they shipped the special garlic butter sauce that the chain uses in Korea, but no - it's just nacho cheese. $8.50 for bad fries with nacho cheese makes no sense. The ddukbokki was just alright.

T1 & T3 must try! The proportions are big, I do suggest getting only one entree per person and then do family style.
