I used to love dining at this restaurant for their delicious food, but I recently ordered take-out and was extremely disappointed. The food did not meet my expectations and was not as satisfying as it used to be. I was hoping for the same great taste I remember, but unfortunately, it fell short. I hope they can improve their quality and consistency in the future. But it’s also understanding since many Ethiopian restaurants start out Strong, and then goes down the Hill.

I went here for a birthday and they delivered. We had to reserve in advance which I appreciated . We didn’t stress. Food was great , they did this special dining for 10 people which was so beautiful , we had some Instagram worthy pictures. Food was delicious and they sang happy birthday which made birthday girl feel special. Owners were so nice . Already made plans to come back here.

If you are like me and a fan of Ethiopian food but struggle to find a good Ethiopian restaurant, Birndo is the solution for you. The service, the ambiance, and the food—oh my God, the food—was exquisite. I had the Birndo firfir, the tibs, and their vegan platter, and I enjoyed the entire experience. This is definitely a place I will revisit again and again .

● SERVICE: The first three times that we went to Birindo, we waited 30+ minutes to get a seat. The owner/manager told me that I can reserve a sit in advance by phone.As advised, I made a reservation (two days in advance) for 8 people by phone for Saturday March 9. The person who I talked to confirmed my reservation for Saturday 07:00 pm, therefore I made plans with my 7 friends thinking that my reservation is good. After 6 hours, I got a call from Birindo and was told that my reservation was canceled because they were overbooked. Clearly, I was removed from the reservation list (most probably replaced by another reservation)● ATMOSPHERE: If you want to relax, eat, catch up with friends, and have a great time in a restaurant, THEN THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.a) On both of our visits, we were pressured to leave in a very short time. The server rushed us to eat and leave the place right after we got our seat. She placed the bill and the "Reserved" table sign on our table right after we had our last bite. All this was happening under the owner/manager's watch.b) The place is overcrowded with tables and chairs. Tables are placed very close to each other. This place is good for a group of 4 people max. If you have a large group, THIS ISN'T THE PLACE FOR YOU.c) If you are a person who enjoy to have coffee or tea after you eat your food, THIS ISN'T THE PLACE FOR YOU. On both times on our visits, we saw a big Espresso machine by the counter but they refused to serve us coffee or tea. Instead they want us to drink alcohol (the money maker) on a Saturday at 02:00 pm. However, I noticed that hot drinks were served on one table (to preferred customers...I think ) although I was told that the restaurant doesn't sell it any longer.

Finding this Ethiopian restaurant in the DMV area felt like finding a hidden treasure. It’s famous for its amazing meat dishes, and they really are as good as people say. I usually prefer vegetarian food, but I was really impressed by their meat dishes. The place is cozy and welcoming, with a modern design adding some jazz music to your ears. What really makes this place special is how friendly and quick the staff. They make you feel at home, which is not common in many restaurants. The location is also great because it’s easy to get to and has plenty of parking. If you’re interested in trying Ethiopian food, especially meat dishes, this is the top place to go. They are really committed to serving great food and taking care of their customers, making it one of the best in the area. I highly recommend it!

This by far one of the best Ethiopian food. It reminds me of my mom's cooking. Way to go Birndo !! I have a complaint though, I reserved a table for five. As I was walking in I noticed two young girls walking simultaneously. Two severs approached us I informed the one attending to me, that I had a reservation. Unfortunately the table I reserved was not available. So. I requested two tables to be joined to seat us. The place is small the other option was to seat on a booth, I hate sitting on a booth as a group. He responded okay, turned to chat with the server that was attending to the girls. Then he immediately change his mind and said we can only seat on booth. I guess the girls didn't want to seat @ the booth. In actuality it's much easier for two persons to get in-put the booth seating than five people. I felt that was very unprofessional. Ended up on a booth squeezing in and out uncomfortably. We had another server help us & we ended up enjoying the food. My point to the owners it's important to train employees to be mindful.
