Wow! This was such a delicious meal, I completely forgot to take photos 😅
Things I will definitely order again as a vegan:
- banh bot loc steamed tapioca dumplings (if you like boba it is like a savory chewy texture - so good and I often don’t see vegan versions of this)
- hen xuc ban da clam dip - super yummy a must get
- nem nuong mien trung chay wrap and roll platter - wow the vegan meat sausage was so delicious
-vegan thai tea

This place is officially my new favorite.First of all, the Vietnamese vegan iced coffee?? Life-changing. I dream about it.
My go-to order is the vermicelli bowl and let me tell you, this thing is HUGE and packed with so much fresh, yummy goodness it feels like a gift every time. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, like someone actually cared (probably because they did).
And the spring rolls… omg. So bomb. The wrap has this almost pasty-esque texture; crispy, chewy, and insanely delicious. 10/10!
Now let’s talk dessert because the mango sticky rice deserves its own moment. It’s served warm with green rice, coconut sauce, and sesame seeds, and the mangos are always perfectly ripe and sweet. It somehow hits the sweet spot without making you feel like you need a nap or insulin afterward. The perfect dessert.
The staff is warm, efficient, and just genuinely lovely. The manager is always chatting with guests, checking in on meals, and making everyone feel welcome. It really adds to the whole vibe.
Can’t say enough good things about this place. So grateful to have such an amazing vegan-friendly spot in the DMV. If you haven’t been yet…go.

Got the spring rolls , clam dip and vegan crab soup. Rolls were burnt but tasty. Clam dip wasn’t as fishy as I thought it would be but it was still delicious. The flavor reminds me of when I was a non vegan and would get grilled teriyaki chicken from takeout joints in the mall. And the soup was a tomato broth with oyster mushroom, shitake mushroom , imitation ham and imitation crab which was rlly big slabs of spongey soy protein that tasted good. The noodles were short and chopped up which kind of make it hard to grab with my chopsticks. Overall, a pretty solid option to go out and eat with friends or family . These were just little things I wanted to nitpick
Amazing food! Great Service.

Wow. Haven’t been able to get Bun Bo Hue in years since giving up pork, and this really scratched the itch. I counted three different mushrooms and four or five different tofu/soy products. The broth was the perfect spice level. The “anchovy” paste on the side (like a mushroom/soybean thing) was so umami and perfect for dipping the bean curd. Service was friendly and fast. Beautiful lotus mural on the wall.
Husband who eats meat had the ‘beef’ lemongrass bowl that so flavorful
We tried the fried avocado and spring roll app filled with taro and other goodies. Both super good.
Oh and the Vietnamese coffee was bomb.
Go here. ❤️

From service to the food, par excellence! It was our family's first time visiting this restaurant. Its a good location and pleasantly inviting. Although there is limited space, we managed to squeeze six on a table. Not only were the servers very polite, they were quick in delivering high quality appetizers. Each item we purchased had an excellent taste, texture and unique experience. The sauces delivered with the crispy spring rolls, tofu nuggets, crispy veggie shrimp (elephant yam) and multiple other dishes we tried were a perfect match for the dish. The owner greeted us with enthusiasim. He and his wife must be very proud of their success. I do hope they open a new location closer to Chantilly soon. We will certainly return even if we have to drive to the Falls Church location. My favorite dish was the crispy tofu main entree. Each of us had a different favorite dish but overall unanimous that everything tasted great with very nice presentation as well. Thanks for a wonderful dinner, Genx!

If you’re craving flavorful Vietnamese vegetarian food, Chay Vegetarian is a must-try! We came during dinner time when the restaurant gets pretty busy, but service was still fast, friendly, and attentive.
Their popular bún đậu mắm tôm did not disappoint — everything tasted incredibly good, fresh, and full of authentic Vietnamese flavors. Portions here are huge, which makes the already affordable prices even better. We ordered two appetizers, a Diet Coke, and three large main dishes, and our total was only $85. Such a great deal for the amount of food and quality you get!
The restaurant itself isn’t very big, but they can still comfortably seat a group of 5–6 people. The menu focuses mainly on Vietnamese vegetarian dishes, and everything we tried felt thoughtfully prepared and super satisfying.
Definitely recommend stopping by if you want delicious, generous, and affordable vegetarian Vietnamese eats!

Recommended dishes: Mango Sticky Rice, Shaky Beef, Clam Dip, Crispy Fried Noodles, Fried Avocado, Imperial Mango Salad, Spicy Pho Noodle, Summer Rolls, Lemongrass Vermicelli Bowl, Bun Bo Hue, Fried Wontons, Fried Rice with Shrimp, Pad Thai, Bun Dau Mam Chay, Thai Basil Chicken, Heavenly Fried Rice, Combination Broken Rice Platter, Hot Pot, Jade Fried Rice, Shredded Bi Rolls
Delicious food, and honestly so hard to tell it’s vegan/vegetarian. It’s easy to get to, with plenty of free parking right outside the restaurant, and very friendly staff. The setting is casual, comfortable, and relaxing. Everything I’ve tried has been fantastic. We spoke to the owner for a few minutes and he emphasized not sacrificing quality. The “meats” are unbelievably real, and one would never know it’s vegetable based. This time I tried the Shaky “Beef”, with brown rice; I could not tell the “beef” wasn’t beef. Crazy, but delicious. My son had the Thit Kho Chay (Chay clay pot), which was also delicious.
What an amazing experience and wonderful flavors, especially for a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. I’m not a vegan nor vegetarian but am not opposed to a meal without meat; however it’s generally not my go-to. But we tried this restaurant while we were out and immediately decided it’s a keeper. It’s very accessible with plenty of parking and sits in a very nice building with a pleasant interior. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. My wife and I started with a couple of appetizers to go with our meal. Both were great, with my wife preferential to the steamed tapioca dumplings (A7), and me the shredded bi chay rolls (A4). What a positive start. For our main meal my wife went with the crispy “fish” with mango (M5) (and she couldn’t tell it wasn’t really fish) while I went with a safe bet and got the chay vermicelli bowl (N7). Both entrees were wonderful. The quality of the food is high while the price is very reasonable for the portions.

Small family owned restaurant with excellent food and service. The vegetarian and vegan selections are second to none, the attention to detail is off the charts. Try their homemade hot sauce if you think you can handle it!
