There is plenty to choose from on this menu. I’ve now been twice and it is a good option to keep everyone happy, including the non-vegans. Last night I had the appetiser platter with hummus, fava beans and pickled eggplant and it was more than enough food, without providing leftovers for a week, like most restaurants around here. It was tasty and enjoyable!

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Fava Pot. The food is incredibly fresh, the portions are very generous, and everything is delicious. The service is also exceptional.

Thank you, Fava Pot for a wonderful meal. Last night was our first time there and it will be the first of many I hope. We loved the flavorful food, clearly it is made carefully with love. You also made us feel very welcome and we loved the cozy environment. We will be sure to come some time just for dessert and coffee too.

So glad that I decided to try this restaurant. This was my first time having Egyptian food and oh boy, did it taste fantastic!! I’d like to clarify something before I write about the food. In the posted photos, it seems as if there’s limited seating place but that’s not the case. There’s indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. You can choose to ask for a server if you’re sitting outside or order from your phone using the scanner. The items on the app (scanner) are very detailed and each dish has an accompanying photograph that makes it easier to decide what you want to order. Imo, I love this feature. :)

Now, the food — well, you must try the chicken kofta!! It’s simply out of the world — nothing fancy but the mincemeat is tender and flavoured just right that it tastes delightfully homely. We also got the chef’s appetiser platter where you can choose to order three starter dishes. We tried out the hummus, falafel, and the Egyptian style liver. The falafel and the liver both tasted good. After this, we decided to order the lamb fattah and the mosaka with egyptian rice for entrees. The lamb fattah was great — the lamb shank was mildly seasoned and charred on the outside and was served on a bed of garlicky, tomato rice that is (most probably) fried with ghee and crispy pita. The mosaka came in a small earthen pot and was layered with eggplant, ground beef, raisins, nuts, and veggies and served alongside with rice and salad. The point, I would like to make here is that, the quantity of each dish is generous enough for two people to eat comfortably. So, please use your judgement to order accordingly or ask them for a takeaway container. :) After all this, I still wanted to try desserts, so I got the kunafa with sweet cheese. Also, the mint tea tasted so good and refreshing after such a heavy meal. Not to forget, the owner/chef, Dina, was lovely. :)
All in all, great food, service, and atmosphere!! Would love to visit again and try more items on the menu. :)

Sadly, I didn’t get to try the food. I wanted to be respectful before trying to walk through the patio to get to the restaurant so I turned off in search for the front door. There were two parties outside on patio and a dog barking profusely at me the whole walk! The bark was extremely intimidating and made me very uncomfortable. I made it to the front to read a note that said come through the back. I double checked if the dog was on a leash then made my way to the back again. The dog was so loud and I was scared but mostly wondering why no one was telling it to stop. When I walked in the door looking for a table or a hostess at least someone came up behind and asked “can I help you?” I told her I would like a table and she pointed to a very tiny table with the sun beaming right on it. Considering I had just come from a party setup from work and was hot i asked her may I please get a table out of the sun. She says “NO It’s Saturday this is the only table we have just in case people come.” I looked around and there was only one other person in the restaurant. I thought, really! So I asked her can I please get a table with an outlet then (as I was killing 1.5 hours until I walked back across the street to break down party decorations and I brought my laptop). Her response was no this is the only option for you or outside. I said that dog outside is ready to attack me it won’t stop barking at me. I figured by now since she was outside seated at one of the tables that she was the owner. “Is that your dog?” She said yes, and that was it while she stared at me Seeing as though she had no intentions of accommodating me (the paying customer who loves Greek food) or even apologizing for her dogs behavior I left. I mean when a dog is acting in that manor don’t you say excuse me to the person being mistreated or even speak to your dog to say chill out? She, did nothing of the sort then acted as if I was invading their space. I said “clearly you don’t want me here so I’ll take my business elsewhere,” and walked out. It’s a shame because I was just looking for such a company with a food truck to recommend to all my client and keep on my vendor list. I am not bothered by much but this really did get under my skin. And made me take the time to leave my second negative review in my lifetime. For what it’s worth, I’d like to tell you she made me feel pretty bad and poorly treated. After breakdown I took a peek at the restaurant which was still only 3 tables full. same amount as when I left. I thought the older generations had more customer care than what I witnessed tonight. Shame. The worse part is I’ll never actually try their food.

Went here for my brother's birthday today. We had a pretty large party and they were able to serve us promptly. Their pita was great, we actually ate too much of it, and couldn't finish our food!

The moussaka was amazing! My first time having it and it was quite delicious. Very decadent. The chicken Kofta is something I would definitely recommend.

Baba ghanouj was a little too sour for my tastes. I usually like it less acidic and a little more smoke. The grape leaves, on the other hand, were not sour enough. The falafel was good, not amazing.

The lamb chops were delicious - well cooked and the seasoning was exceptional. It was my first time having Koshary, and I found it to be good. But a little underwhelming for the national dish of Egypt. The moussaka overshadowed it.
