DDAY

Unfortunately the service quality has significantly deteriorated. On Sunday 04/07/2024 at 3:20 pm, the seller refused to slice bread because they had already cleaned the bread-slicing machine. The store closes at 4 pm.

Such an amazing store in my neck of the woods. I’ve lived in my home near German Gourmet store for almost 14 years, I’ve driven by countless times and never entered. That ended today when I went inside, and it was AWESOME! Having served in the USAF stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany for two years I was able to sample the best of Germany food. I’m not an alcohol drinker so the beers were never my thing. This store took me back to my 19-20’s when I tried the German food, and lived like a king in Germany. This store has any and everything Germany, if you’re looking for a certain food, beer or desserts they got you covered. Don’t be like me and wait years to visit this store, run don’t walk to German Gourmet. You will not be disappointed! Enjoy! ?? ?

Amazing German candies!

Great selection. Sandwiches are priced well. Imports are pricey but I guess that's how it is and understandable. They had the best things that you can't get other placesz

The hot sandwiches here are so good! They have over 10 types of sausages to choose from. The bread they use is also delicious and definitely makes the sandwiches even better. I only wish they didn't end food ordering at 2-3 pm. Pastries and ice cream are also great. There's a decent parking lot as well, which is a plus.

Falls Church, VA - after hiking around in the city my handsome husband and I worked up a hunger. German Gourmet to the rescue! This little store on Columbia Pike functions as a German specialty grocer, deli and sandwich counter. Our focus today was the sandwich counter. One important thing to know is there is no seating of any kind. You will be taking your sandwiches to go. (My suggestion: get a few slices of butter kaese at the deli counter and munch on these on the car ride home. Then enjoy your sandwiches in peace at your abode.) They do offer napkins and plastic silverware if needed. The sandwiches are freshly made to order. You take a number and a deli employee will assist you. They have numerous types of bratwurst to choose from. Additionally a number of German cold cuts. We ordered a Nurnberger bratwurst and the Tyrolean hot sandwich. The breads for both were very fresh and the sandwiches tasty. The mustard on the bratwurst was full of good horseradish! The Tyrolean was moist with a good combination of tender meat and sauce. The bread was a nice mild rye - it was a two hander sandwich! We were both full having eaten these delicious sandwiches. The deli employees were all friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable. We would definitely return.

I was glad to find the German Gourmet as I was looking for Kartoffel Klöbe and could not find it anywhere. To my surprise German Gourmet is carrying a wide variety of Klöbe from which I picked couple to try, as I am looking for the Bavarian style. From the moment you enter the store you feel that you are in Germany. The layout is very well planed with an impressive selection of authentic German products. I felt like a kid in a candy store as it is impossible to leave the store empty handed. During my visit I also bought typical German cold cuts that were absolutely exceptional!I can’t wait to go back :)

Took me back to my childhood days in Germany!! All my favorites from when I was a kid! I was so thrilled they even had Oblaten and almond bitters for my German Christmas cookies. The Brötchen was terrific and really reminded me of the smell you get when you pass by a bakery in Germany and get the whiff of bread. All the products I bought were still fresh and the prices were half the cost from Amazon or German Delis shipping rates. I also found local wine from towns next to where I grew up at in Rauenthal! will be back!! I’m one happy lady today, even driving 2 hours out of my way to find this diamond in the rough

Very disappointed coming here! Prices are outrageous and completely unjustified. Do yourself the favor and buy online, even Amazon offers these products cheaper than here.

My mom used to come here once a month to buy stuff since she was from Germany. However, she didn't buy much because of the high prices. We drove to Canada every year for many years and one year we discovered Brandt's Meats in Etobicoke, Ontario (pre-Internet days). Thereafter, we stocked up in Canada. The fact that Dimpflmeier Bakery was close by didn't hurt either. Stocked up on German-style bread too!I understand some markup being a small store, but 50 or 100% is crazy. Frankly, I think the store was better when it was on Lee highway. The relocation to Bailey's crossroads messed it up. Perhaps it was the change in ownership that did it too.I stop by just for nostalgia sometimes but hardly buy anything.

While this store is one of the only stores that specializes in selling German products, I have to say I was disappointed to see that their product offering has moved to push non German products. Also they have raised their prices significantly. To add insult to injury then also now charge you a non-cash adjustment of 2.75% on all credit card purchases. This is outrageous. Next time I shop there I will come with a bag of pennies to pay for my purchases. Let them deal with currency then.
