The food is always good and service is excellent. They keep the water glasses full and they make sure that everything is to your liking. The place was packed and we always make sure we make a reservation, especially if we make it for Friday or Saturday evening. It will be very loud if you expect a quiet atmosphere during these times.

We waited about 20 minutes just to have our order taken. Our server forgot to bring things we requested in a timely manner and we had to make repeated requests. One of the people in our party had a birthday, and we waited another 20 minutes after our meal was cleared for the employees to do their birthday celebration. The entire restaurant was very, very loud. Finally, the tortillas used in the Tacos Bierra (sp?) were overcooked and difficult to chew. I ended up taking all of the filling out and eating it with my rice. It was a very disappointing experience. I will likely not return.

Guapos Merrifield is a great choice for anytime to make any kind of meal experience enjoyable and most importantly, a delicious one. Tonight, food was amazing in flavor, temperature, and quantity. The server was gracious and had our drinks, appetizers, and meal all come out continuously. After a hard week at work, having dinner at Guapos Merrifield on a Friday night, I know I am going to have a wonderful meal--and start to a great weekend.

The homemade tortillas are the BEST I've ever had, even after taking to go and reheating. They make me wonder why I've eaten tortillas any other way... The chicken fajita was flavorful and fresh but very salty.
The staff are friendly and attentive. As for atmosphere, it's beautifully furnished and great for business/team lunches.

This restaurant look like they just recently renovated. The bathrooms are very clean the facilities and seating area such as the patio and indoor seating are all very nice. This is a very big restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. We enjoyed the happy hour with $8 margaritas and various menu items. We enjoyed the ceviche with the pork belly, the steak bites are delicious as well. Our favorite was the steak bites. The flavor to the steak was absolutely delicious! The El pastor quesadillas was decent. They also have $2 El pastor tacos which were just okay. I would definitely come back for happy hour here. It runs from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with great food options and drinks. The lomo soldado did not taste like The typical lomos soldado, but the flavor is still pretty good. The carne asada fajita is really delicious. They also have a band playing at the bar or outdoor seating area on Fridays. This restaurant gets very busy on the Friday night. The restaurant has a large menu and we will be back to try other menu items.

Came to Guapo’s for an early dinner hoping to sit on the patio with our two small dogs (under 15lbs). The hostess saw the dogs, agreed to sit us, and then told us that our dogs had to sit outside of the patio on the other side of the fence. They were allowed out on the sidewalk but were not allowed to sit at the restaurant.
Note. We walked past dog bowls to get to our seat. Two stationed in the corner next to the hostess stand. And on their Google maps page they are listed as dog friendly (photo included below).
The hostess paged the manager who flippantly stated this was a new policy. This is an extremely dangerous policy. The chain should update their policy to state they are clearly not dog friendly

terrible experience at the falls church location. I was served the wrong shots 2 times and they tried to say it was the right one but clearly not, instead serving me a cheaper liquor. they did not own up to their mistakes and still made me pay 35$ a shot. Beware they will finesse you if you aren’t careful. The manager is also unprofessional.

My husband was searching for good Tex-Mex restaurants online and came across this one. We went on a Saturday evening and they were very busy but were able to get us a table without waiting. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are very friendly. The menu prices weren’t too affordable, but the serving size was decent. I didn’t dare order a margarita because those prices are insane. 27$ for a large marg is crazy 🤯 might as well just drink them at home for that price.
You are greeted with free chips and salsa when you’re seated. There were 2 different salsas and unfortunately I didn’t care for either because they had a strong taste of cumin. I ordered the beef tacos and was disappointed with the taco meat. It was a weird texture and tasted like beef soup in a taco shell which was unappetizing. I barely ate half of one taco and couldn’t eat any more of it— so that was 16$ wasted. My son ordered the birria tacos and those looked so much better than what I ordered. He ate every last bit so I know they were delicious.
All in all the food was decent and so was the service. If we decide to come be back here, I will have to try something else and hope to have a better experience.
